Finally, the test we have all been waiting for. Not a surprise, but definitely a disappointment. New X may be faster than the US-spec IX, but still no denying that it is a step backwards. I for one will be waiting for the XI or at least the RS...

So if you take away the straits it can beat the IX. Ummm no thanks.

At least the 5spd beat the SST.

So on the upside this thing just needs some power mods. Suspension is world class.

 

The JDM IX hands down is faster around a track than a JDM X.

 

On a track without effective straits.

See the X with the SST not having the clutch to heel toe, makes it suck around the corner compared to the X with the MT!!!

The IX owns all...the X is a good car...but its just not raw anymore. I think all the X fans are getting butt hurt now. Lets see how the X does with some mods...Like can it run a high 12 with just an airfilter?

 

And a turbo back ARC exhaust with a highflow CAT + tune.... maybe.

 

This just about sealed it for me to become officially dissapointed. Wonder how sales will do.

yea Evo X's reputation is decreasing more and more as all the new information is released. :

 

i normally wouldn't put much stock in an infotainment vid from japan. best motoring typically puts the slower cars up front and those cars tend to gunk up the works by slowing the superior cars down, preventing them from logging clean laps. in this vid, it certainly appears all of the cars were able to lap cleanly. which makes me really really surprised that the IX put the gap that it did.

i'm still prepared though for the X to put a serious hurt on the IX. one vid doesn't really mean a whole lot to me. i'll never understand why people look for any excuse to push the "i believe" button, especially when the car hasn't even been released to the general public in our particular market (US).

 

Of course we are all entitled to our own opinion. But I think this is a very good indication of how X performs vs JDM IX. Motor Trend says even USDM IX is faster than the X, but I am waiting some more for that verdict.
