To all those who are saying that the sst was screwing up at the end of the race, you are wrong. Look, I am getting the 5 speed because paddle shifters are boring and I think the 5 speed will be more mod friendly, but the SST works fine. My wife is Japanese, and she translated the video for me, and when the sst evo x starts bouncing off of redline, it's because he put it in manual mode by accident and didn't expect to have to upshift. He says that it shifts great, but that it's boring. He kept saying this all throughout the race. At the end of the race, he starts playing with the shift knob and puts it in d mode just to see what it does and it upshifts immediately, which leads me to believe that it's probably an overdrive mode to save fuel by keeping the rpms down. The tranny works fine. I wouldn't buy it; it's heavier and removes the driver involvement that makes driving a sports car so much fun, but it works fine nonetheless. I don't know where people heard that it's had overheating issues. If there is evidence of this please show me a link because I would be curious to see if this is true, but all the magazines have said that it works great. No problems. Either way, I'm not trying to defend the X, I just think that people are being overcritical of the car. I have mixed feelings on the car myself, as I placed my preorder deposit before the official performance numbers came in and wasn't enthused about the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. However, as disappointed in the straight line speed as I am, there's no denying that the car is better in every OTHER category. I mean the handling really is better. You can see the X pulling a sharper line with more speed than the 9, but once the straight opens up it falls back behind. Either way it'll be a badass car, I just wish that it had a bit more power. Oh well...

He was just messing around with the SST after everyone but Keiichi passed him. You are correct.

STi2EvoX< i totatlly get what you're saying about the X being superior in every other category. I think that's what makes the car so appealing, regardless of the straight line speed. I've had an evo 8 and 9, and two of the things i truly wanted in the car was steering wheel mounted controls and a quieter cabin...

Im excited to see what this new car will bring to the scene. I'll probably end up getting a 9 in a few months once the X comes out.... I can't see myself paying close to $40K for a Mitsu... even if it is an Evolution.

In many markets where the Evo X has been released the Evo X is cheaper as a new model than the IX.
Example: NZ, the X is cheaper by $2K than IX.
So quit thinking it's gonna be way more expensive, no one knows.

Yeha, if you listen to the guy talking and watch him he's complaining about no clutch pedal and shifter... pretty obvious after paying attention.

IX is much better than X... X is too much, IX is a true evo.

Wow I had no idea. That would be cool if it was actually CHEAPER here.

sst was acting funny because of human error, right? but how about the 5mt? regardless the IX still ate the X (both of them). And this was on a track, a well balanced track, so for the car to come up on top, it means that it's pretty well balanced, so quit being cry babies on the X and just suck it up and admint that the IX is better. Think about, if they max out the X's potential now, what are they going to do about the XI, XII, etc....
