X MR sticker price. str8 from a mitsu salesman

well.....the other day on my way home from work my buddy and salesman that sold me my evo gave me a ring. we spoke for a few mins and then i asked him when the X's were going to be on their lot. he told me that they were looking at getting a few by mid dec. but due to late shipments at the ports itll probably be early jan. i asked him what the sticker price was looking like and he said that a tip top loaded MR is looking to be around (and prepare urselfs) $43K. if i had it i would buy one but thats alot of fn $ for a slower car imo. neway he told me that when he got the first ones in he was going to give me a call so i can come up and check one out and he said and i quote "youll be my excuse to take one out and beat on it". of course i have respect for evos so ill be nice to a brand new car but just throwing some possibly new info out there about the X.

I guess no news is good news. Now that we know its 43k it kinda sucks, unless your dealer is marking it up 5G's

LOL the dealer was just quoting you a price he KNOWS is well above MSRP. He doesn't know jack don't listen to him. Salesmen always lie to make themselves look like they know what they are talking about, even when they are clueless. That's their game.

Actually, that number doesn't sound really as far fetched as you think. If you assume baseline MR model is around 37K plus 3-4K options with the tech package, you are right around 41K. Plus you got to add destination fee which for me is 565 bucks. I wouldn't be surprised.

^^ Well the salesman probably doesn't know about the technology package, but as soon as he learns of it, he'll correct himself and say that was for a base MR, and the tech package will increase that number.

The mr will come in most likely around 36,500, and that's including leather interior as standard. Add in technology package and rockford fosgate sound system, and that's about 2,500. With the destination charge, you should still be at just under 40,000. I assure you it will not be more than this; I've talked to a number of different dealers, and this is pretty much what they've all said to expect. The GSR will come in around 32,500, and with sss package, navigation, and the aero package, you'll be at 37,000 tops. I've got a white GSR already preordered with all three options, and this is what my dealer has told me to roughly expect. I had to place a deposit down, but I made clear that this was dependant on the condition that he would guarantee that there will be no mark up... and he agreed. He promised me that the car will be msrp plus destination, and that's it. There will be no premium, but he says that the sticker price is non negotiable. I think that's fair, although you know he'll break when I am presented the final price of 37,000, and I say, "do it for 36,000 and I'll drive it home today." No one is stupid enough to throw away a sale that large over a thousand bucks, I assure you.

i think the evo close to or at 40k is rediculous....i mean if i was gonna spend that much i'd spend a little more and go get a vette....not me personally but the typical consumer....i thought 36k for my ix mr was rediculous....i'll never spend that much again....my next vehicle will be below 30k

for that price you're better off getting an fully loaded lexus IS 350 then. Road and track says it does the quarter mile in 13.5@103mph http://www.roadandtrack.com/article....rticle_id=4459

or a 335i.... those things are monsters with a tune only. Hell a new WRX would give the X a run for the money in a straight line. Sad day for EVO's

The evo is not strictly a 1/4 mile car. Mitsubishi is looking to a more refined audience with the X and I don't understand why everyone is getting their panties in such a bunch. I mean the Evo IX is slower than the Evo VI, why aren't you guys crying about that?

I personally wouldn't mind a upgrade to a X and all the benefits it carries (satnav, 7 airbags and such). Face it, the X is moving further from a homologation special to a grand tourer.
