My god, how the hell did you manage to afford an Evo and two Benzes, must be the rich parents, huh? Because judging by your knowledge of Roman Numbers you must depend on others, don't you?

Seriously, you drive a car about 1 year old and are complaining there is no new Evo you'll buy right now. If you bought a IX, either you weren't paying attention, or you knew the X was coming in '08. So...why did you get into a new vehicle, take the depreciation hit, and then want to get into a X? Was a cheaper used VIII out of the question?

Mitsubishi isn't counting on your money anyway. They know most people in the market for everything the current Evo offers either have one, have enough access to one that they they wouldn't buy new, or can't afford a new one. This makes sense. I already have an Evo which I could trade in, but only if I found something I liked better (it's not worn out yet). Since you have an '06, and it's only '07, I doubt yours is worn out yet either, and most people have lots to pay off still anyway and are not expecting to buy a new car for a few years.

FYI, if you didn't know, this is all just a little bit of history repeating...
When the Evo VII came out, all the hardcore people proclaimed the VI the performance icon of all time, and relegated the VII to "polishers" (people who drive fast cars, but don't drive fast cars). But then the VIII came out, the rods not so much like chocolate, and it really took off. By that time, the bugs were worked out such that an FQ400 model was offered! The IX introduced MIVEC, and that was that, the ultimate every-day-man's ferrari beater, and all was good. The "polishers" were happy they were early adopters with bragging rights, and possibly upgraded again for more bragging rights. The performance enthusiasts stepped back into the market when their VI's were worn out and aftermarket was available, around Evo VIII/IX timeframe, and all was good. But now...NOW...NOOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!!!!!!!! OMG OMG OMG WTF WTF WHO WOULD BUY IT AAHHHHHHHHH THE SKY IS FALLING EVO IX FTW 4-EVARZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quit stressing, follow the Evo once in a while, and when it develops back into something that appeals to you, buy it! Till then, drive the hell out of your IX! It's a ****ing rad car dude enjoy it for a while before you think about trading her in. Me, I'm mildly disappointed, but damn that thing looks nice. I love my car, but it's getting kinda old staring at the interior. It's a VIII with no ACD, no MIVEC, open front diff, smallest turbo, all things I'm not going to change. For me, the Evo X IS an upgrade, but it's still open for debate. If someone hits 330 whp easily with the X with SST, and it doesn't explode...I'm getting one. I've always wanted a paddle shifted sequential manual transmission worth a damn like the ones in Ferraris. and BETTER than the bull**** tiptronic on the Porsche. You, on the other hand, have a IX. It's got ACD, MIVEC, big turbo, 330whp with its eyes closed, nicer interior options, stereo options, etc The X is NOT an upgrade to this car yet! So just drive it a few years and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You most likely will want an Evo XI or XII, or maybe a 0.5 increment between there.
