Who else is not buying another car from Mitsubishi
its not just the weight...its also on how it looks
not everybody buys an M3 or M5 and take that to the track...but then again BMW or any other makes wouldnt down grade their cars
example: 03 EVO come stock with HID......all GSR after that is an option
thats like buying a new S2000 but now it come stock with 16inch rims

And looks are as always, subjective. I've seen the Evo X in person a few times and I think it looks great. Lot's of details that don't show well in pictures.
So I guess Mitsu. lost you as a customer. Oh, well. We'll miss you on the message boards. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!
I'm an Ex Mitsu employee and spent 3 years with the brand from 01-04. I have an 03 Galant which I gave to my Mom recently.
I think Mitsu is back on track and doing the right thing. The new lancer is one of the best looking small sedans out there, and I happen to like the new EVO X.
The outlander is a pretty cool smaller SUV as well. Mistsu needs to hit a home-run with the redesign of the Galant to round out their product line. The 99-03 Galant was a great looking sedan. Mitsu killed that car w/ a bad restyle.
Mitsu can be a viable brand here in the States and have a god future. They'll never be another Honda or Toyota, but they can survive in a niche market ala Subaru and do well.
If they can pull off what they did with the Lancer, Mistsu will have a good future if they can keep up with a good styling team.

thanks for the pos input
I don't like the dealerships either nor the service dept's... they are all butt wipes and are not into the sport of car tuning.
I did have luck with Honda here and there, and here there are at least 2 speciality Service shops that RACE... sponsor teams, so they are more than anxious to help "tune" a car.. instead of denieing a warranty item since you may have changed the air filter that caused the tranny to blow up...lol...

Although it is very reliable. Performance wise its a cruel joke under 60 mph.
Just to throw another worthless opinion in this discussion...
The Evo is suffering from a syndrome that affects a lot of sports cars. A company will produce an awesome performance car. Due to the outstanding performance, the car will gain a following. The car manufacturer will inevitably try to cash in on this following by "mainstreaming" the car and trying to sell it to a wider audience. This results in ridiculous "upgrades" like in-dash navigation, power seats, dual-zone climate controls, and comfort tuned suspensions that end up killing the one thing that made the car popular in the first place.
If Mitsu wanted me to be excited about the Evo X it should weigh 2800 lbs.
Likewise, the new Nissan GT-R should weigh around 3100 lbs.
Edit: Oh, yeah, the Evo X is going to get absolutely pwned by the new STi.

Why are you comparing apples to oranges and coming up with lemonade? Also HID's are expensive for reliable OEM ones. It's a feature that is nice, but not needed. At least it's an option, but you will have to split the bill for it.
The direction Mitsu is going is the right direction. Maybe if you go to college to learn business/economics then you'll understand. Mitsu is barely making any money in the U.S. Obviously changes have to be made. The best products to sell are the ones to the mainstream market. The niche boy racer market just isn't cutting it for profit. So what do you do? Make the car more mature and driveable as a daily driver, but still offer a GSR model for racing fans.
You are telling me this looks fugly?

If you want an ugly car that performs better then the outgoing model, get the STI. I still can't believe you are calling the X ugly. The new lancer looks great, the EVO X looks even better. The evo XI is starting to look dated.

Wow, you are very ignorant. Have you seen the price of an M3 or M5? Bmw doesn't need to downgrade because they have cheaper more plush models that still offer decent performance. They don't need to downgrade the M3 or M5 because they can just add a few thousand dollars to the price tag and people will still buy it.

well the mitshubishi will be around . The oldest japan car maker + the 3. biggest bank in the world, etc.
And they doing goooood. Well americans don't like it ,since Pearl Harbor ,but thats don't change a bit.
Use some research. They had problems before, but who dont had? And because they got they own financial "dady" you don't have to worry about them.

Mitsubishi is not Porsche.
You guys on here are less than 5% of the market for Mitsu. Maybe more like 2%
You can't just cater to the tuner crowd who wants their cars light as tin can, ride like crap, and go 0-60 in 4.4 seconds. You folks don't spend more money with mitsu. You buy your tin can EVO and then move on.
You've got to bring in more of a mature crowd and spread your base. The Evo X is going **** a lot of punk kids off, but Mitsu has to move forward.
