Yea but you give up the extra few inches in width, the braking system, aluminum body panels and light weight wheels, performance tires, etc. But hey, if prices it right this might be the perfect car for these EvoM bench racers.

I could see the ralliart topping out at 30-31K with all options, it would be 3-4k cheaper than the X and right where the IX started.

My question is you put hid's on a cheaper evo and the gsr option does not get one?

The Sportback better come to these shores. It'd be a shame if the US didn't get it. The Sportback looks better than the sedan by far.

If mitsu keeps the ralliart as a sportback only in the U.S. It wont step on the X's toes that much.

tough crowd, tough crowd... how fast is fast? how slow is slow?

the AWD system will weigh about 150 lbs, the SST about 80 lbs. with 240 hp, and a quick trip to a 0-60 calculator, we get 5.6 sec which is right about how fast the wrx is.

this car is gonna be awesome. it won't step on the evo's toes because it's gonna be close to $10k cheaper. if you can afford to get the evo, then go for it. if you can't then get this thing. either way, mitsu sells you a car. bad product planning? i think not...

think of all the people that bought the GTS fully loaded. and that car was crazy slow. now who wouldn't pay about 5k more and get an AWD turbo ACD AYC SST mini evo??? sold yet?

lol its not going to be 5 more k, lol its going to be like 10 k over a 2008 GTS, but I wouldnt be surprised if the 2009 went up in price maybe by 3k. but the closer it is to the EVOX the more its going to take customers as way from the EVO and into the RalliArt. It wont be long till the rally art has got sister parts from the EVO and will be an evo or close enough in the techinical sense.

Its briliant lol that Director of marketing is going to get the AK 47 treatment if this doesnt workout. lol

5.6 sec 0-60??? You smoking crack? This new Ralliart will weigh the same as the Evo if not more. Remember that it won't have all the lightweight aluminum panels the Evo X has. It won't have the lightweight BBS wheels. It won't have the lightweight brake rotors the MR has. But it will have all the heavy parts like AWD and SST. This thing will be a pig just like the Evo X...and it will be drastically underpowered. The Evo X can barely pull a 5.0 sec 0-60. This Ralliart will be lucky if it can 0-60 in 6.0 sec flat. Will probably be slower than that. I'm not even going to mention 1/4 mile because that would be laughable. A Mazdaspeed3 would smoke this new Ralliart.

And, you say product planning is good at Mitsu??? This Ralliart is a joke.

You cats are some of the most negative people out here. complain, complain, complain about everything.

the rally will be a great car for those who don't want or need the 300hp and want something at a more affordable price.

the lancer is the best looking car that mitsu is making right now, and they are right for doing everything they can to cover low, middle, and higher end of the market place.

please prove your point. the usdm gts curb weight is 3032. the AWD system used in the galant fortis in japan weighs about 150 lbs over the FF. as another reference the AWD used in the outlander is about 150 lbs too. logically the AWD used in the RA will be about 150-200 the MOST. add 80 lbs for the SST and you get 3312 pounds at most and 3262 at best. sooooo plug that into a 0-60 calculator and you get an est time of 5.6-5.7 sec.

where do you base your estimated weight from? the evo has alum panels etc, but it also has a way stiffer chassis.

gts with all options is like 22k already. add 5k would make it 27k, so i doubt the RA will be more than that base. yes if you add options to the RA it'll be close to 30k, BUT my point wasn't about price per se. it was that if people were willing to buy the GTS with all options for 22k, expensive for a slow economy car, they probably would have gladly added 5k to get a much faster car, albeit less equipped. people who want a well equipped grocery getter won't fork a penny over and get the GTS, but most of us would in a heartbeat.

the bottomline is that there IS a market for BOTH the GTS and RA.
