Here's a link to some info for the upcoming Lancer Ralliart on edmunds.com...
Key Points:
- 236-horsepower (a detuned version of the Evo's turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine).
- Six-speed twin-clutch SST transmission.
- Full-time four-wheel drive (including AYC and ACD).
According to Mitsubishi (direct source at
not indicated) there will also be:
- Recaro front seats
- Sport steering wheel with paddle shifters
- Rain-sensing wipers
- Xenon headlamps with washers.
To me, the Ralliart sounds like a great alternative to the Evo X... lots of details are still unknown of course (price, release date and so on).

Wow 236 HP 6 speed sst??? hmmm soundls like the perfect lancer.... All they need to do now is price it at no higher than $25,000 but I know they will and so it will fail like all their other cars..
sounds very interesting
this makes the 2.4 GTS lancer pointless, and if they do go ahead with that 2.4 lancer it will be expensive to setup a turbo for it, in terms of incompatible internals swaps.

they are making a mistake, they are stepping on the EVOs shoes, its like they dont want to sell cars or something.
they are overlapping the segments too close to the evo, if they are smart they will save them selves and release the 5d wagon option so they can diversify and attract different market segments

Hmmm...add the heavy AWD system...add the heavy SST tranny...to an already heavy Lancer...and only 236 hp...sounds like a great recipe for an extremely slow car...hopefully these aren't legit stats for the car...
in this case going with the 2.4 would have been better and not use the transmission, keep it weak enough to handle a CVT and keep the 5 speed.
Mitsus sales of the EVO is going to suffer for these, what they should do it tune the EVO even higher to 320hp and keep a sizable gap between it and the RalliArt

I think this is a good move. It "should" be like Subaru selling the WRX and STi, has it slowed STi sales? I don't think so, but not sure. It's perfect. The aftermarket can eat it up like the WRX as well. I think there are +'s for both the 2.0L and 2.4L that was mentioned.

^^^that only works when the top end version lives up to the expectations of the public as is not the case with the EVO.... so... may will opt for the RalliArt lancer turbo AWD. instead of the EVOX
Why does the Ralliart make GTS NA 2.4l pointless? GTS 2.4l with 167HP will likely start at around $19K, Ralliart (236HP) with all the mentioned goodies will probably start at around $25-26K, nothing is overlapping here and a fully loaded GTS probably still will be cheaper than base Ralliart.

thats the evo we want unfortunately
