The new M3 most improved aspect is the high speed acceleration from 120 to 160 mph and thats where 335 even with tunes won't keep up. Also M3 handles better.

I am more than sure Mitsubishi will somehow deteriorate Ralliarts performance compared to Evo X and it's potential for mods, otherwise what would be the point of Evo X if in fact the new Ralliart priced at $26K would offer similar performance to Evo X with a $2K worth of mods. Mitsubishis management may not be the brightest in the world but I don't think they would be this stupid as to spend so much R&D dollars on Evo X and then let it be cannibalized by Ralliart. Whats would be the point of spending so much money on developing new technologies such as S-AWC (which probably won't be in a Ralliart anyway due to it's price).
Yes, stock for stock the m3 will be the 335i. I am talking about with an ecu flash, for the 335i. With an ecu flash the 335i will beat the m3 in all aspects of speed. There are people gaining 100 crank hp, just from a flash on those cars. Its the same thing for the wrx and sti. You can get a flash for the wrx, and exhaust, and be right arround the same hp figures of the STI. But people dont buy the sti, just for its hp figures. They buy it for all of the other aspects the car has to offer over the wrx. I would make a good bet that, if this car comes out that its going to have exactly the same internals, just the turbo, and the ecu will be tuned down. It may not have the s-awc, but it will have a good awd system.

i still don't understand why people think like this? they don't design cars, don't market cars with the thought of modding in mind. it may very well turn out that the RA is the better modding platform. i have said so for months. cheaper car, great chassis, detuned evo engine. a tuner's wet dream.

the evo was made as a halo car. mitsu themselves have set a very low target sales for the evo. it's NOT meant to be on every block. the RA IS meant to be on every block. they WILL cannibalize evo sales, but who cares? mitsu has just sold you another one of it's own cars. it will also steal WRX owners.

it takes a certain kinda person to buy a 40K evo. not so for the RA. the masses will look into the RA. every MS3, WRX, STi, Si, GTi, etc owner is a potential buyer. sell to the masses and not the enthusiast. must be mitsu's new motto...

Ohh and a tune, with an ecu flash, and exhaust, on the 335i will smoke the M3. Please man, for the sake of everyone stop posting stuff that just doesnt need to be posted. I am not trying to argue with you, but it needs to stop.
Ohh and your comparing this situation, to the wrx vs sti deal. The sti would obvously have different internals, its a bigger motor!!!!!!!
You're funny!

You clearly show you know nothing about marketing, and you really must not read any of my posts because I'm very supportive of both the Evo X and the Ralliart. I think they are both excellent cars and both have a place in Mitsu's lineup. As much as I love my "razor edged" IX, being a family man I appreciate the new "softer" Evo X. Do you even know what you are talking about? The STI has a bigger engine than the WRX? Hahahaha, I think you need to do a little more research before you start calling people out and acting all super-smart e-thug on the internet.

Hmmmm...maybe you meant more powerful rather than bigger Because both WRX and STI have a 2.5L Boxer engine

I can understand the confusion since it's not always been like (MY2006 was the changeover) that but come on, that's something that 2 and a half seconds of searching on Google could have saved a whole lot of embarrassment on

Whos a internet thug?? I didnt call anyone out, no name calling, nothing. Dont get your panties in a bunch. My bad....I clearly forgot that they changed it in 06 to a detuned version of the sti/forestor motor. MY BAD! Its funny you say I know nothing about marketing, since thats what I do for a living. Mitsu would benifit a hell of lot more, if they offered the lancer like this. It would be benificial to many different types of buyers. Hardcore racers, people who dont want to shell out 35 grand for an evo, and it would compete with the wrx. So, I cant really see any reason how this wouldnt work, I highly doubt the ralliart will see the sawc, but im sure it will have a decent awd system.

Just pray that the flashed car doesn't require a tow to the dealer. Every car that I've ever had required a tow or two to the dealership for whatever reasons. if a person is driving the evo with a flashed ECU and say the fuel pump goes bad. How is that person going to have the ECU re flashed before it gets towed to the dealer? Are they going to tow it to the shop that flashed the ECU, and then tow it again to the dealer. Sounds like a PITA.

Funny, they say that the 1/4 mile time is 0.3s slower than the MR, however, they say that the 5 Speed X should be 0.3s faster. Therefore, it would be just as fast as the IX on the 1/4 mile, wouldnt it?

+1 Well said. I can't believe some of the arguments in this thread. At least it's entertaining.
