Evo X cross country 2000 mile impression
Hmm, yeah, this is not fun at all. I guess I'll wait till it is more readily available, then do some test drives to see how I feel.
In all likely hood, maybe just selling some of the mods off the 335 and buying a used 8 to have track days with might be the ticket? All I lose is my DPE wheels and I can get a weekend/track monkey for the shore and MotoX

Settle?!?
Actually, you and I have something in common. Here's a little story for you. When I bought my IX from South Coast, I was torn between Electric Blue and Wicked White. I studied production and learned that WW was more common than EB. I thought the EB was way hotter than the old 03-04 Evo BBY, so I bought that.
To this day, I have only seen one other EB, but tons of other colors. And I spend a lot of time at a nearby Evo shop, so I get to see a lot of Evos.
Fast forward to this year and I was having the same problem again. I had been in a dialogue with Sam at South Coast for a little over a week, and he had cars coming in and going out really fast. He told me that I could have whatever I want, it was just about waiting a few days. No biggie for me, I was flying out anyway. I told him I was torn between WW and OB. He laughed because I told him I had struggled with this before with Electric Blue on an IX.
Pause for a second, and Dupont just announced that white overtook silver as the most common car color in 2008 in the USA for new cars. On the IX, silver and black dominated, especially at the end with the SE cars.
But Sam supported this. They have had quite a few Evo Xs go out of that dealership so far, and white is what they see the most. Sam told me that Octane Blue is the color he has seen the least. Its also a GSR only color and he said its a one year color. Don't know on that last part, but it would at least give you the virtue of having something that everyone else doesn't have.
I'm not hating on the white, its the only other new color I'd consider and white is total JDM racecar. Get what you want and don't settle. I freaking love Octane Blue, though. I hope whatever you get you will love too!

Having a IX in a color I didn't like definately contributed to my part of the decision to trade the IX in this past summer. I just wasn't happy with the GG, so I don't want to make the same mistake twice. WW or OB should keep me satisfied...
Haha, thanks. Its a family buisness, so there's only 5 of us, and I doubt we'll be getting bigger anytime soon. because there's only 5, our yearly bonus is pretty substantial, so if you signed up, I'D MAKE LESS
I was actually looking at a WW IX MR, with some nice ARC mods in the For sale section, sick car, as maybe a track baby. I'm not really addicted to expensive cars, just cars I feel comfortable in, so I wouldn't have any problems moving to a cheaper car I think Noize (my winter ride is a 99 Jeep with 102k miles lol, all the cars on my profile list are pretty much summer babys except the 545 which my father drives more then I do.
But seeing as the 335 was not only my favourite up to this point, it was the first Car that ever had my name on its papers, so its rather special to me. Some of the negative things about the X, especially the gears, and the fact it needs a serious session at weight watchers. I dunno.
After 2k miles, do you feel like you made a mistake moving from an IX to the X? I live in both NYC and PA, out in PA i'm in one of the last non-developed areas around, and the roads are small, curvy, an with pretty big hills. go 10 miles and I'm straight to Rt 95 and 611, so I'm surrounded by pretty much all road conditions.
So If build quality isn't huge for me, and I just want a fun fast car for all road conditions, is the improve handling of the S-AYC worth the better looks and straight speed of the IX? And If you could answer this, does the X have the same "floaty" feel as the 335 over pavement, as if your not truly connected to the road, like with an evo, where you feel the road through the car, like its a part of it?
