Well we haven't seen nothing yet besides it responds well to mods. Fact of the matter is there is only so much boost wise it can do...23psi stock is one reason this is so much hp without being tuned. Really only thing to be tuned would be timing and A/F which will add a little. The power still tapers off...look at the graph. I will agree this is quite impressive...but we should know what numbers IX or VIII with mods put down on this dyno. Remember its not uncommon to hit 350whp on a dynojet with basic bolt ons on a IX. I still think the X is doing awesome. My prediction is the X will spool a hair sooner and maybe build its torque a little quicker but after 5k RPM the IX because of the bigger turbo will take over. We will see...one thing for sure is I am glad its turning out to already be a good car.

I just posted this on a local board...just a quickie...I am BEAT...I was on the dyno till 2:30 this morning after the IC and CAI..got to bed at 3...was at the track by 6:30...

Well I just gave it one helluva beatdown...I put my evo's wheels/tires(18X9.5 with 275 NT01s) on it an abused the crap out of it at PIR! Pissed me off...it has 20 less HP, weighs 200lb more, and has NO suspension mods, and I only ran a second slower than in my car. The thing is a marshmallow, but it just won't let go...it rotates way better than my 8, the stability management is very good, but it becomes a problem trying to get on it leaving a tight turn, it pulls throttle. All in all, I am floored by the car. It is a hoot to drive, it spools YESTERDAY...you can floor it at 2500 and see 20 psi almost instantly...the 14" brembos work great (needs pads though) you never have to downshift on the freeway...just plain fun! and to top it off it has cruise control and a trunk popper on the remote.

This just reminds me of the Subie to much with the open deck block. Guys like me who want 600whp plus love the old iron block that you don't have to sleeve. Drop pistons and rods in and make some big #s.

I think any car with a turbo would be easy to gain a few more horses but to make serious power im going to stick to my 4g63. The 4g63 just reminds me of my Cummings truck that can make crap loads of power has been around forever and has proven itself over and over.

Now i am going to take the wife on a test drive and see if i can get her to trade her BMW in for a Evo X I feel it will make a nice daily driver for her. Shoot ill have Lucas tune it on E85 for some extra power

You haters are funny, and pathetic. The x is making more power for with the same mods as the 9, a LOT more. The boost may not be able to go up too much past stock, but the taper is easy to fix, as agp has already done. Optimizing air/fuel is a huge source of power for this car, and with the car having only a hair smaller turbo, mivec on both intake and exhaust it seems to spool at crazy low rpms. Dr smile and boostez and a couple more of you, you guys in particular are really hating on the x, and for what? So that you can feel like the 9 that you just bought a year ago is better? Look, if you don't like the x, then don't buy one. But for christ's sake, act like an adult and stop whining. I mean even after the car makes a huge gain in power you're like, "still sucks, my 9 blah blah." Then, agp says that the car is now making 330 whp on an intake, exhaust and boost controller! You then whine more saying,"well the ecu reflash won't do anything...blah blah wah wah." It's pathetic. Look, no one is contesting that the 9's block, being iron, can most likely handle more power than the evo x's aluminum block. However, the new motor is more advanced in spite of this and makes more power with the same mods, a lot more. I've never met anyone who contests facts. It's like saying that the sky isn't really blue, it's brown. WTF?! Look, your 9 is a great car, and for 1000hp applications it's the better choice. Dare I say up to the 600-700 mark, the evo x is the better choice. And to z1500 or whoever is tuning the x, info was released in japan that the x's ecu pulls throttle near redline or whenever boost spike is detected and that this is corrected with a reflash. Just in case you hadn't heard that yet, I figured I'd bring it up to help out. My .02. Incredible job so far, I will be buying some parts from you guys for my x when they are available. Let us know!
