DARE i say the X will be a IX killer with the basic mods us non-drag racers are going to do (intake, exhaust, boost controller, and re-flash)? with some lightening mods of course...like JDM aluminum bumpers, etc.

AGP might take it Saturday night .......... Saturday we are driving it @ the local NASA trackday.....

we will have laptimes to compare to our EVO 8..... we will have a drift box to record various performance stuff and will test both stock tires and Nitto NT-01s

Nice, looks like 20psi @ ~2800rpm. All that w/o any tuning is pretty good. Smaller turbo probably helps this out as well.

You sound silly! How can you think that the Evo X is just as untuned as the Evo IX?? From all records here, it seems that the Evo X is mostly tuned already. AGP mentioned that the car with a tune may gain ~10awhp on top of what's already there due to it's aggressive timing. The only other thing to do is lean out the mixture to where it's supposed to be and maybe pull back timing to avoid knock. The IX seems to have had a much less aggressive tune hence why it yielded so much more whp with a reflash.

Youre assuming the X ECU is much more tuned than the IX ECU. Quit making assumptions. There is a lot to be gained just through the air fuel ratio alone and if indeed the car is knocking on 91 there is good power to be gained there as well. These are two things that we know now as fact, and can be fixed and show gains. Did the evo ix knock on pump gas with simple mods?

Good power from boltons.. The only problem i see with the X is the limitations that the stock turbo will have...

nice power from basic bolt ons. I noticed that the 08 STi with a TBE and tune made IFRC 306 whp and about 360 wtq

I just spoke with ecutek ( england ) they have finished the software development for the X. They are seeing 320 - 330 whp on a basic flash on a bone stock X. I was over in england last month and they have had an ecu for about four months, doing development on it. From what they told me .. the car responds great and there is alot of power to be made with the car.

Software and can bus cable .. will be available to dealers withing the week according to ecutek...

P.S. dont ask me what dyno .. because i dont know

Their car was at WRC ... in new zealand, they did all the R&D with it..

You may be right or you may be wrong, there may be little gained with a tune or flash software, or there may be very good gains. But don't assume to know the answer already. The point of this thread was to show the gains made with an EXHAUST, MBC, WGA, and INTAKE. The gains made thus far have been impressive. Stay on topic, you want to discuss which turbo has greater potential the EVO X or EVO IX turbo, then create another thread and discuss. I mean it is cool to compare the new EVO and old EVO mod for mod in this thread, but when you start talking about flashes and the max peak hp output for the EVO X then we are getting off topic and please don't assume to know the answer.

Not to mention there may be good power to be gained from tuning the mivec, especially now since it has it both on the intake and exhaust cams. These are exciting days.

I love all the haters. The Evo X will me making power. All of you IX owners need to just accept the fact that the Exo X is better.
