I drive mostly in the city where the gearing seems great. easily drive under 2000 rpms and just gas it when needed. revs very fast and the turbo is all good from about 2500 rpms and up , I havent done any long drives with the car. I will tell you it feel very smooth at 4000rpm , more like 3000 rpm in my EVO VIII. the quick spool turbo and shorter gear ratio make it a great stop light to stop light and city traffic car.

 

After driving the X for a week I agree it needs a 6th gear. At highway speeds in fifth the car hovers around 3k and just begs to be shifted again.
