Assuming you are talking WHP, you are definitely wrong. It is a rare Evo indeed to be over 500hp. Even if it isnt at the wheel, and calculating approx %15 loss, thats still over 400 to the wheels, and very few people see that number. Maybe its common among the people you hang with, but US wide, this is rare. Especially since to get in this range, not running E85, it takes a turbo upgrade, and not many people do that on a whole either. Just going to 400 at the wheels put you in the elite hp club even here on the forums. Just ask the vendors man, you will find that there arent many in this 500hp club.

boostez, we get it. You don't like the X. Please stop taking every opportunity to remind everyone. Its like arguing about music. No one is changing your mind, you aren't changing anyone elses.

This thread should be deleted.. everyone ruined it past Post #1.

On a side note, I test drove the X and I thought it pretty much sucked too and I don't have to chime in about mid-corner bumps under steady state steering. With me in it and some luggage it's probably close to two tons! If I want a two-ton car I'll pick up any hemi thats currently available.

Having had 2 Evo 8's. One 03 GSR and One 05 MR. The new car is much better in every aspect. It is quieter, smoother, handles better, better interior (by far), nicer features, looks better (subjective opinion), super responsive power and steering response, has S-AWC with AYC, wider wheels, larger tires. It is also a much safer car, thats a big part of the reason it weighs more. It has the same power as the Evo 9 and more than the Evo 8's in stock form. The weight is the only reason it is somewhat slower than the Evo 8 and Evo 9. You have to have some sacrifices to gain all the benefits. I havent talked to anyone who has disliked the new look of the car once they see it in person, especially people who dont know what an Evo is. In the previous Evos I had, people were interested in what kind of car it was but didnt necessarily complement the looks, just the uniqueness of the vehicle. The price is slightly higher, but you get alot of technology for the additional money. AYC and S-AWC by itself it worth alot of money now that we know how well it works.

As far as the carbon fiber look inside being cheap looking. I think it looks nice, and is much nicer in my opinion than the high dolloar BMW crappy looking wood grain. I dont give a crap whether the wood grain is real or fake it still looks like crap. Screw a BMW. No BMW will ever hanle like this car (not even the new M3). So it you buy an Evo X, you get 90% of the luxury of a BMW, but 150% of the performance of the BMW. This is my opinion is a good trade of for me. You are friggin retareded if you think the new Evo is not unique in its styling. It stands out much more than the older Evos.

Oh and last but not least. The Evo X has cruise control now. If you look back in this forum, since the beginning everyone has complained about no cruise. Now we have it. Another plus for the Evo X.

Brian

+1

People used to help one another here and since the X has dropped its starting to look as bad as fanboys arguing over which console is best. SAD. Should probably merge all the "its not a real evo" into one large thread where everyone can stroke each other and people looking to actually have a conversation that isn't completely tired can continue to enjoy these forums.

I had to do the same with my IX when i first bought it. Powerband was flat after 5,000RPM. After i put a boost controller in it it was fine. So whats the difference?
Personally, all the people i know with a IX (3 people) didn't buy their car and expected to keep it stock anyway. I'm sure thats true for a lot of people in this forum too.

Bah, as they say, "theres an *** for every seat"
Can the 3 series do 1.05g's out of the box?...i think not.

I mean you say it feels slow, then somebody else says it feels awesome, you say the interior is so cheap, and the next guy says it's a mark improvement over the IX. My point is these threads are now all purely subjective and getting really old.
3000ways, i always love to read your posts because when i see your name i know there will finally be some logic in the thread.

I own a IX, test drove the X and kept up with all the past 10 months worth of data and news. I love it. i wouldn't trade in my car as of yet, but i'm open to it. Even though i dislike some things about it, i respect the car for what it is and the guys that own it. Just like 3000ways said, it's all subjective. Give it a rest already.

Me too, but there are several components on the car that don't need upgrading as opposed to the X. You don't HAVE to have an intake, intercooler, intercooler pipes, ported head, O2 housing, etc.. to make power in the 8/9. But I should discuss this in my thread.. so I'll digress.

Hey, I didn't start this thread. There are at least 3 people that expressed their views on test driving the X here. I am just getting in the conversation is all..

With all this talk about it being "necessary" to mod the X to be anything special, who here drives a stock VIII or IX?

MODS- PLEASE MERGE THIS THREAD WITH THE Evo X vs Evo VIII & IX, member opinions thread...

I think everyone is equally tired of these kinds of threads...
