Evo X official paint issues/problems thread {merge}
They won't do anything. Some are township roads, and some are interstates/highways. Multiple individuals have already tried to sue the municipalities of surrounding towns as well as the town I live with no avail. Its lame.
I had more of a road rash than actual chips. I used Dr. Colorchip with what I consider to be OUTSTANDING results. At a range of 3 feet or more (IE no one will know it is there unless you tell them), you cannot see the touch up at all, at 6 inches all you can see is that the clear has been knicked. I am not easily impressed. My Ventureshield installer was pretty impressed also, he saw the car before so he knew where I wanted to run the film.
Did the front bumper and hood touch up also with virtual perfection, but again with more of a knick, not a chunk down through the primer. The only problems were a few gouges that had been imprinted in the plastic from rocks, color hid them, but the plastic bumper has permanent damage. I had one spot on a door like that from a seperate incident, took 4 coats over several days to build up but that is basically gone and unnoticeable also, unless I point it out.
It is not cheap stuff. Neither is Ventureshield, but it is much more enjoyable to drive now without worrying about every little tink I hear. 250 mile road trip and could not tell a thing happened with the RA flaps and the film.

have RA flaps and clearbra...still can hear occasional debris fly up. i can count maybe 2-3 chips since everything got installed a month ago. the new chips are all less than an inch away from where the clearbra ends
My dealership was trying to get me to by some sort of aftermarket paint protection. I didn't ask to many questions at the time, but he said it would take about 4 hours to put on. And he made it sound like some sort of wax or something.
This protection would guarantee against any natural chips as well as stop the paint from fading.
Has anyone heard of this. He said it was an extra $500 but would probably discount it if I really wanted it.

The 3M plastic films are the only way to go but you cant cover the whole car in this stuff!
I would go with VENTURESHIELD over CLEARBRA. It's thicker and a better product. Clearbra has orange peel to it. Ventureshield has a lifetime warranty against yellowing. Clearbra does not. That being said, Ventureshield is not cheap.
