I hope the mud flaps will be able to take care of this...

Ok guys, you guys should really take the car back to the dealership and complain about the paint chipping! SOA discontinued the colour back because of this! If MMA gets enough complaints, I am SURE they will take action!

So I was at the dealership today complaining about all the chips in my paint and my salesman told me he just came from a class/ meeting on the paint problems, and that Subaru has stop painting OBP because of all the problems with the paint chipping. So it seems there will be no more black Sti other than whats out there now.

They also have kits out for free to stop the chipping in front of the rear wheels.
I also complained about my nose of the car and they are going to put in a ticked with SOA, My salesman told me to complain till they put on a venture shield on my car for free so thats what I plan to do.

So at least SOA is trying to do something about their crappy paint. Lets hope they fix the nose of my car not even 2k miles on it yet.

An Evo X owner was offered to get his car repainted as well! Don't just buy mud flaps people!!!

It's happening on my Lancer. Cleaned my car yesterday and saw all these chips. I'm pissed off because I got the protector shield on it too!

If you can afford the aero kit, I'd highly recommend it, as well as mud flaps!

I have all but eleminated all rock chips by installing my own mud flaps, however I still have some from before and am still getting some now. I dont think I would need to be repainted but some extra clear bra in that area would please me.

What kind of flaps did you install? I got the ones from the first week I had my X. I dont have any chips yet, but I only have 410 miles.

If it makes anyone feel better, My 2 wheel Drive TrailBlazer SS had the same issue. I had to install tube running boards to deflect Rocks. I think ALL vehicles with fender flares have this issue.

Here is a link to a thread I made a couple months ago about $5 mud flaps.

definition of irony: A car company manufactures A RALLY CAR, people purchase said car only to complain about chipped paint....

To be fair, Mitsubishi has been out of the Rally car game for a while...The current EVO is much more a street car. The whole production rally car thing has always been more for selling cars than real.

Today I washed my car for the second time since I bought it, and low and behold, one chip per side, right in front of the plastic protector, down to the primer. I'm going to take it in and make them fix it, and mention that they could continue to fix it as it happens or buy me a set of mudflaps. I'm at 600 miles. I'll put up pics later, photodump isn't working for me today.
