Just a quick query for actual owners if anyone can help either with the above or what rpm its at at 70mph? Tried some of the online calculators but this seems a lot easier! thanks in advance

Do you need to have the exact rpm for the speed?
100km/hr was around 3000, 2900 rpm. That's what roughly 64mph I believe.

np. Anyone who owns an X should know this already but 210km/hr at 5800rpm rules, especially with a 7k redline.

Yup, . . . we can start a "This Thing Needs a 6th Gear" club.

It's about marketing and sales. They'll bring out a 6 speed manual GSR in a year or two (or three) when sales are even less than they are now.

Three years from now they'll have a 2.5L

3000rpm looked like about 105km/h today when I was driving.

70 is 3000-3200 in the evo 8.. with the HKS .411 gearing it drops to like 2800.. that would be nice~!

Count me in the 'desperately need a 6th gear club'. After cruisng at 3400 rpm for an hour I was frazzled the other day. I actually love the spacing of the first 5 gears. It's going to be great at the track for sure. Shifting through the first 5 gears.the car gets up to speed lightning fast. I'm in 5th by the time I reach the end of most on ramps...Then I'm reaching in vane for a 6th gear . WTH was Mits' thinking not giving the X a 6th gear? STi has 6th gear...where the heck is our 6th gear?

the car is an 08 GSR....not a IX. Not an VIII. It's whole newly designed gearbox. Not an Evo IX gearbox. I don't care what those ratios are and never will care. Mits' could have easily designed another gear into the new one but chose not to. It's 2008 and it's whole different car and I think they messed up with gearbox...the rest of the car is awesome though

the EVO X box is a new box, your right. And I know what car we're talking about.

I was just saying that Mitsu always offers the GSR in a 5 speed and always offers the MR with the 6sp. That how it was with the previous gen. and it will be the same with this gen. and I got money it will be same in the XI, XII, etc.

They didnt "mess up". The 5sp is more race friendly, just not as DD friendly.

PSA. All you noobs just need to listen (read) sometimes. Damn..........
