Manual transmission isn't going anywhere. People can claim it all they want. It is like people who claim that PC gaming is dieing...yea...they have been claiming that for a decade now

Maybe if Americans actually did chop wood for the heater they wouldn't be so damn fat.
Automatic vs manual... BIG difference

I know that one. I meant really everything else. In that case I take manual, easy choice...

i dont think manuals will go anywhere for awhile, (DCT's are still expensive) but DCT's DO take skill...just because there is no clutch pedal you cant be fooled into thinking its easy..... understandable if you leave in auto the whole time.... but at least you have the option for both.... and they are undeniable faster...

Now if they make a car that has a DCT and a ****er also...lol

I do admit that a true manual can be more "fun"

They wouldnt let anyone test drive one.

So tell me, where is it that you can/what BS are you spewing to get a test drive? thing is come may ill be ready to get a car with the release of the MR, and if i dont get a test drive im going with a G35x or an IS350 the same day .

The 335xi is AMAZING but, i cant bring myself to spend the extra 10-13,000 over the others.

However, if i could get an M3 for the price of an 335xi, sign me up too lol.
Hahaha, no BS. It was a piece of cake. I went to look at one and they said, "Wanna drive it?". Shocked the hell out of me. Maybe because I pulled in with my STi. A week later, I negotiated a great price with the dealer and picked one up.

As for the MR, I couldn't justify the extra cost and the fact that I just like to shift for my self. Paddles - that for smacking bottoms not shifting.

Many people have said X MR is just a great daily driver. It all comes down to test driving them. I honestly would have to chose from the M3 or the X MR. I have never driven either.

You will either like the TC-SST or you don't. It does not mean its any worse of an option. Its like a Corvette, some people have an auto while others love the 6sp. I am getting sick and tired of the X hate threads. It happens with all Evo's. The VIII came out and every DSMer wanted one but were worrried since it was the first to the states. Then the IX came out and the majority did not think it was worth it but then the majority coveted them. Now the X is out and the same story. Just be lucky we have another Evo. Soon, goverment regulations are going to get rid of sports cars once the 35mpg policy is instated.
Has this info about the MR been confirmed or posted anywhere? After seeing the GSR i was in awe, until i sat in it and wanted to die. I'm not the skinniest person in the world and lets face it, im not buying a car to go drive it around the track 24/7 so why the hell would i need these nasty *** racing seats.

If the MR is coming with upgraded interior (better than base/GSR plastic crap panels) and Leather seats, i seriously wouldnt think twice before getting this over a car in the same price range...

Has been and always will be that the lack of luxury in the evo for its price is the only thing i'd argue being that im buying for a daily driver. That, and of course the fact that im pretty sure stock exhaust doesnt sound anything near as good as a G35/G37

for me...i still think the Evo is still a bargain considering it's performance rivaling those of which costing twice and even 3 times it's price. it just excites me knowing the MR will get the new technologies (sophisticated all wheel drive and the best of both worlds TC-SST auto/manual). That's what the Evo is all about. Not to mention a cheaper version of the GT-R save for 2 extra more doors.

On a separate note:
As one of the few here that has driven an MR including at the track and am a big fan of manual trannies, I will say I absolutely think the SST is an option deserving to be in the evo. I would be disappointed if it were the only option, but its not. As with any change, there is resistance and time to get used to it, but this is going to be the trend of the next years. As for me...I like both for different reasons

I'm guessing the one you drove was the pre-production model correct? still had bugs and not a full final interior? Or can you shed some light on the upgraded interior/leather seats question i asked?

Reread his review on the Evo X MR. The MR he drove was a pre-production model that was modified to be as close to the production model as possible. I am pretty sure it had full MR interior as well...

It was 99.9 percent production. The only reason it was not 100 percent is the technicality that official production had not started until about a week before I drove it and those cars are not here yet. Everything made previous to that point is officially preproduction. The interior/exterior was exact. There were no bugs noted. As mentioned, read the 5 car review posted on the homepage. The seats where nice...not Audi nice, but very nice. They were also as supportive as you can get shy of a full race seat. According to Mitsu, they are not modified for fat americans like the last generation. Supposedly the only difference between the japanese ones and ours is a lengthened knew support

speaking of the seats. thats the thing that bothers me the most about the X. when i sat in the driver seat i couldnt see **** to the road, i need to use a damn pillow cause it got no seat modifications. thats so retarded, the pillow gonna be moving around, my nuts going to be all pushed up agasints my thighs cause of the stupid fluffy pillow. im going to have a custom made, firmer but soft cossion if i buy the X. i'm 5'6 or 5'7 but im athletic, i dont got a huge *** to sit on that adds 3 foot leverage. and the new dashboard design sticking up just makes it worse... thats the main reason im considering a little more of a luxury performance sedan since i can fit just right and still have performance. and all them gadgets.

anyone know if mitsu will install powerseats or any company here in south florida that will do it? if its going to cost me 2k **** it, rather sit on my shoe...

I think the MR will be close to $50K with some options, you can spend $42K on a GSR.

For that kind of $ I would get either a 335i, or a used E46 M3, but thats me.
