Turned down the Mitsu Re-flash for a custom tune.

Hey just wondering how many people are turning down the the Mitsubishi Re-flash for an actual custom tune. I have a boost controller and some other little stuff. I know if I take it to Mitsubishi they will void my warranty one the spot. So i just decied to wait for my tuner to tune the car. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks.

Would they really void your warranty on the spot? You must have a ****ty dealership. SCM was always happy to work on my car despite mods. And I got the flash but just to hold me over till there are a few "real" flashes to choose from.

Ya i was told that as soon as they see the EBC they would void it. I guess there is no telling if i wanted to be stupid and run like 30psi on a stock car lol.

I got the flash done so that I had the latest software with hopefully the least amount of issues still left before getting a custom flash.

I think there is a misconception (or maybe there are just some shady dealers out there) that they can just spot void warranties. They can DENY warranty claims on certain things if they can prove that a mod was the cause of the failed part...but they can't just throw a void blanket over your car. More than likely they will make notes in their service records of any potential mods.

This has certainly been beaten to death though....

You're talking about Magnusson-Moss. But that Act will only help you *if* you're willing to fight them with lawyers. In most cases, customers will weigh the costs (in money, time and loss of peace of mind) of hiring a lawyer, just suck it up and fix it themselves or take it to a mod-friendly dealership.

I'm getting the procede, I don't see why it wouldn't work with this flash. I want my 4mpg more and smooth RPM that I deserve please. At least for now. Get the flash, it is free, than tune it later anyways.

Well i have see how long ECU flash is going to take to crack the ecu. I am pretty sure a custome tune and the dealer is the same software. They dealer just tuned the ECU. any custom tuner should be able to do they same. But if it going to be a while them i might just get the re-flash and cross my fingers about my boost controller or just take it out. Well see.
