Why doesn't Mitsubishi embrace the aftermarket?

it would be NICE if mitsubishi didn't void the warranty on aftermarket parts. but, they do and it's well documented, so at the very least nobody should be caught off guard if it happens to them. i'm just happy the evo is here regardless of warranty issues. an evo with no warranty is better than no evo at all.

Actually, not any car. But in this case I think you could import an FQ version, but for the extra cost I would rather just deal with something breaking. Not just from the original cost of the car, but by the time you clear customs and do all that paperwork imagine the cost.

Well you do have a good point. A lot of manufactures are offering factory upgrades to their vehicles.
However, they are not cheap. If you have them added on when you first purchase the car then your not paying interest alone on your car, but interest on those added on part as well because those part increases the value of the car. So instead of paying $500 for a exhaust, you'll be paying $500 plus tax, and interest for the period of the loan.
If you getting the performance part directly from the dealer after the car is purchased. We all know how the dealers love to rip us off.
It's not a bad for Mitsu to offer factory backed performance parts to attract buyers. However as the buyer, is it feasible to pay for those upgraded parts?
