X MR Coming in June!!
Not again.......
Cmon man, they just arrived and still people cannot wait 24 friggin hours for someone to actually purchase one.
Besides the fact that 'you' have not driven one', besides the fact it is not at all like DSG to those who have driven one, but instead light years better, besides that 'all' and I do mean 'all' those who have driven it and have written about it have raved about it, especially those who 'hate similar transmissions' becuae they end up being so very suprised.
GetRag is a very solid name so give us a break and puuuuuhlease quit complaining about your unwarranted concerns, they are not mine, and they are not ours.

quality isnt too good compared to VW, so i am just taking an educated guess that the SST is not the way to go, but of course a 5 speed doesnt make me too happy either
I figured with all the glowing South Coast reviews their dealership might be different and that I might actually get a no hassle price. I understand that initial demand for the MR is high and some markup is expected. I just don't appreciate the typical dealer approach where they will say anything to secure a deposit or get you to visit the dealership. I can get my fill of dealer half-truths in norcal and save myself a plane trip. I still intend to buy an MR but it will be only be when I find a dealer to meet my price requirements (which are in no way ridiculously low) and most likely my purchase will not be from South Coast on principal.
Informed Consumer ftw

Yeah thats what I thought at first. I got a call from Sam this morning asking me to fly down because the MR's came in today. However, he wouldn't give me a price and when I pressed him he stated that the price wouldn't be <= invoice. This is despite his assurances that the price would be below invoice when I placed my deposit which is, incidentally, also the reason I placed a deposit with South Coast in the first place. Needless to say, there is no way I'm flying down to bargain for a car.

the cars looks AWESOME but NO CAR is worth getting screwed over and being lied to. what they did to you is wrong!
my dealership was correct all along then. when i bought my GSR on 4.16 they told me the MR's were on their way but the price on it was definitely not going to be below 41k.
on a sidenote you guys might to try "shahul X" He was saying he will do $500 over invoice or something close to that.
disclaimer: i dont know him but just happen to read his post about the MR's

In the interest of keeping all possible MR buyers informed. I spoke with South Coast again and they are asking 1000 under MSRP which is about 40.5k for a MR with tech package. Supposedly the MR is a 'limited' production. South Coast didn't say how many were being made but Capitol Mitsubishi of San Jose said something to the effect of 1500. Given that ~350ish GSR's were sold in May and there are probably at most 8 months (but most likely closer to 5 months) left in the Evo MR 2008 model year and dealership's known penchant for bending the truth I feel that there should be ample supply.
Personally, I'm gonna give the MR a month to drop in price or go for a 2009 model or find me a clean Evo IX.
