Just saw that too. For the price, I think I'd have to get a 335.

I truly believe the MR is worth every penny. And as a side note, south coast will have them cheaper

I thought fast key was standard on the MR, this press release makes it seem like it is bundled with the tech pack...anyone know?

^Confusing! Anyways... I asked Sam from South Coast, down in their vendor section, & he said that the base MR comes standard w/ Fast Key.

I agree.

Yup, couldn't agree more. Then you factor in how weak the US dollar has become in the global market, you can really see how much of a bargain the new mr is. People are paying close to 34k for a VW r32, and that sucker has only 250hp, no brembos, no recaros, no bbs, etc...things get pricier deal with it.

For all those worried about the mr price, I'd say wait for the ralliart model. Will have the similar sst tranny and sub 6sec 0-60 times, for about 10k less.

Well you don't put navi in an Evo, that's just weird (extra weight and a very non-performance-related feature) and if you want a decent sound system you always go aftermarket for that stuff later, so more like $37-38k, probably closer to $36k.

its hard to overlook the performance of an evo, but the interior is just so sub standard compared to the 335i it makes it hard to swallow. The difference between a loaded mr and a 335i is money well spend if you want a car that feels like a 40k car plus the service that is included with the 335 makes the price even closer. The evo X doesn't even come close to making you feel like you got a 40k car.

I just priced a bmw 335xi with every option checked and it came out to $59,346, so yeah any car will be expensive fully loaded. $40k is not what it used to be, you can't expect the evo to have the best interior and also have the best handling and power in it's price range, they have to skimp somewhere. For that roughly 20k extra you save when buying the mr base vs a 335xi fully loaded, you can spruce up the evo's interior to surpass the bmws. 10k for top of the line audio/computer entertainment system, and 10k for real carbon fiber/suede interior; and throw in fully dynamated interior and you have the perfect evo for 60k.

Not to mention, no dct available for the 335xi at the moment, only 6speed conventional autobox.

Get real. A 335xi with premium package, sport package, auto, and nav has a msrp of 48,975 a similarly 335i has a msrp of 46,075. With those options the 335 has 10x times the luxury of the X and 98% the performance. Take off 1275 for the auto and your at 44,800 and now your not far from the X MR with nav at 40,840. Don't for get the 50k of service included with the bmw. Oh wait not to add fuel to the fire but the latest mag test of a X vs a 135 showed that both are great but the 135 was better. Not a big fan of the X. Give me the 335i
