so i need advice

ok it all starts

i bought i new evo about 1 1/2 months ago
frist the dealer lied to me i told them i want a silver one they said we cant get a silver one so i buy a red one they had instock 1 week after i buy the car wow they have a silver one on the show room floor guess they just wanted a sale that day so i ask the dealer about it and they claim they dont know when or what cars there getting from mitsu

not to metion the car had almost 300 miles on it i have sence then ran into at least five people that told me they drove and gave that car hell before i bought it

then after 1 day of owning the car my seats start to come undone by the belt loops no big deal

then about 3 days later the clutch starts to slip dealer tells me well tear it apart but if we dont find a problem and there are hot spot on the flywheel of pressure plate then ill have to pay the bill

then my front chin spoiler comes un taped and starts to sag
then about a week after that the side skrit on the right side keeps comming unclipped

now tonight im driving and i smell something pull into the house and see smoke comming from under the hood

i hurry and pop the hood to find my driving light melted inside the housing and fell out after distroying the driving light housing and fell down on the shroud and cought it unfire grabed the water house put it out

what would you guys do if you were in my shoes

i cant get mitsu to tell the dealer ship to fix the clutch or not
they dont no what there going to do with the seats yet mitsu hasnt told them

i talked to the district service manger he says clutch is fine in it there is zero free play in the peddle if you even touch the it while you excelerate it slips is that normal not to me its not its none adjustable

i have 3 other mitsu produts i dont have trouble out there clutchs

just dont know what to do

wow sorry to hear that. You can probably claim that car under some sort of lemon law. Id threaten at least some sort of legal action against the dealer.

call your attorney now, dont put it off any longer, do it right now. The longer you keep the car and drive it the worse your case gets. Seriously, if you are having these problems now, what kind of problems are you going to be telling us about 1 year from now!!

like other said try to get a lemon law, bet that 300 miles was beaten by every test drive they had. And next time just wait and get what you want(color) so you dont regret

ok so i take my car to the dealer today there resolution was for me to trade it in for the silver evo

frist off i have had the car now for 6 weeks payed 42k for it and i owe 16k on it the dealer want me to refinance 34k for the silver one witch means that im going to take about a 18k hit for a 6 week old car

i cleaned my stuff out of the car and left it there told them i wouldnt be back to pick it up

so then i called cr at mitsu and opend a case on it they asked what i needed to be happy i told them a new car or my money back and she said she would pass my case to a higher manager and i should here something by tues next week

so i guess ill sit back and wait

The service that you got from your local dealer scares me. Makes me think twice on looking at any Mitsubishi products. *Shudders*

Don't sit and wait too long....its still your credit history on the line - and unless they have waived payments, or frozen the loan, you could still be liable for the coming payments.

Its important that you contact a lawyer - there are plenty of consumer protection laws out there for things like this (excluding lemon laws).

The car obviously had issues (whether they were caused by the test drivers or not) and it seriously impaired its value to you. Also, its evident that these problems could only arise through normal use (meaning there was no way you could foresee these problems).

Good luck!
