As many people here have already said ... we could care less what the average Joe thinks.

Respect from people who know is worth so much more than looks/thoughts of the average Joe in my opinion.

You quoted me = you care J/K. Personally, I ( the average evo Joe) could care less if a person in the "know" cares. It doesnt change the FACT that your X and a base lancer costing half as much look more alike than the VIII or IX did. Its not a bad or a good thing. Dont get me wrong though, I like the X. Relax foo. This thread is getting funny.

I would think for the Evo X owners appreciate the large number of regular lancers on the road to provide camo from the cops at quick glance. Evo 8 and 9 is easily identified at quick glance, You have to know the Evo X to know the difference at quick glance.

Exactly what I was going for when I got the smaller wing. STEALTH. that way I hopefully am no the first guy pulled over all the time....And the regular lancers still look good to boot.

I think it looks different enough (could be more differences) but still enough to where most tuners would be able to see the difference. Unlike the Evo 7-9, people will not see the difference between a evo X and a lancer GTS if they don't have knowledge of cars.

If you think it's bad though, the WRX and the STI is even closer (the previous generation, not the newest gen)

Exactly, and different fenders too. Too many U.S. Evo owners/fans don't know about this. Most likely it's because we only had the CT9A Evo. Looking like the base Lancer is normal. I think the regular new Lancer is a great looking car.

If I had an Evo X I would totally not care about it looking similar to the base Lancer. If you do, you're probably just insecure and care about your image too much.

I'm glad they look similar now. I was always annoyed that the Lancers looked nothing like the Evo yet they shared the same name.......well almost. I always thought they should either change the name of the Lancer or make it look like the Lancer Evolution......or maybe they should just drop the "Lancer" from the Evo and just call it an "Evolution"

I agree with this completely. Not that I'm necessarily "happy" that they look the same, but as long as the "Lancer" name is in there, they should! A Lancer Evolution should resemble the base Lancer to an extent, earning that part of its name. The Evolution designation represents the things that make the Evo significant for what it is. I don't buy a car for what other people think about it.

The Evolution X looks different enough (just wish the tail-lights looked better) from the Lancer GTS. Also I think it benefits X owners. Provide cover... cause 8s and 9s get pulled-over all the time in my area.

I personally feel they look a little too similar. I think if the fender flares were a bit more pronounced on the Evo and it would be enough. That is really all I miss from the 7-9 looks wise is that clearly defined fender flare. From certain angles the fenders on the X look good but, from other they blend in too much.
