It doesn't really bother me. At least it's better than looking like an RC car!

Just snip it where the skinny section starts, leaving the larger base section as seen in the pics.

T1R has a shorty antenna that fits like a glove, check it out in the vendor section, though they don't have up close pictures just yet.

I'm not sure how flush you guys are talking about for the bottom of the short antenna to the base on the roof, but here is a picture of the T1R Short Antenna:

Not sure if that's as flush as you guys are wanting, but there definitely is no thread showing. Also, the T1R antenna is completely black, no logos or etching. Reception is still excellent for both FM and AM bands.

I just noticed in starmax's picture... we have a Canadian Evo X, and it seems the antenna base is different for the Canadian and American Evo X models. Can anyone confirm?

Our Canadian Evo's have the base stereo (non-SSS) since we don't have any upgrade packages. US Evo's with the base stereo will have the same antenna base.

I have the T1R antenna, and it doesn't sit flush with the base. By flush, I mean how the OEM antenna sits. That is, all the way to the bottom and not only to the part you thread onto. I hope that makes sense.

If you look on the 1st page of this thread you can see my post which shows the USDM base with the upgraded stereo.

Will that fit the nav antennas as well?

I got one on ebay for $8
It shows the base area, but it is shorter than all the others I've seen out.
