A story of the little evo that couldnt....
I had over 1000 pounds of aluminum (which had to delivered for work) in my X along with my girlfriend and I, I'm 6 foot and 165 and my girlfriend is 5'4 and 126, do the math! I had no problems what so ever with the X, it was rather relived afterwards tho. I wasn't going up crazy hills but I for one know the car wouldn't have had any problems, this engine produces 152 hp without any assistance from the turbo, that's more enough to move all four wheels and a car load of people!

driving lesson.
no way you cant clime out from there. unless its slippery.
the best way to learn to hang on the clutch is exactly that type of steep roads.
stop the car on it, apply e-break and slowly release it with the depressed clutch.
Then as you release the e-break release more and more clutch, if necessary add throttle more . if you get good on it, the car will not roll back stay there . With no burning clutch and not 4000k rpm
Just as necessary to hold a car on the hill.
this is an actual driving test requirements from my country:
go up on hill and stop with no breaks and no rolling back, then start from the stationery position again. then you done.
No wonder why we dont have tranny or clutch problem there with the Evo's and why we got some many here...
