Has anyone one had the CEL turn on and then off by itself. I can drive for 2 days with no light then start it and drive and bingo there it is, then it will turn off whenever.

It's your test pipe. Even with a defouler it may throw a code every once in a while. Mine does it usually when in WOT, and it goes away after a few days.

I have the same problem when I install my AMS CAI, I just went to autozone and have them check my engine and I got a P0171 codes which means my MAF sensor is dirty, I just spray my MAF sensor with a brake cleaner, install and drive a few miles and the CEL was gone.

You should use electrical contact cleaner for that, not brake cleaner btw. Either way, I don't think that there's any way that your maf was really dirty being so new. It was probably just a fluke and the cone filter just created turbulence over the maf and made it freak out. I am willing to bet that the cel would've gone away on it's own. and that the brake cleaner was just coincidental. Either way, it's why if you're going to run a cone filter it's best to have a good length of pipe before the maf so that the turbulence that cone filters cause is smoothed out before it hits the sensor. Or, you could've saved some cash and done it the right way and just kept the stock air box in place. The stock box really isn't a restriction, it's just the stock paper filter that can be at high power levels. If you go with a drop in like the ones from works, k&n, hks, or ralliart then you will free up the restriction and still keep the maf happy at any power level. Just my .02

It seems to come on at slower driving speeds I think. I can never catch when it comes on or turns off.GRRR

I can drive like it like I stole it and it never messes up. then bingo it on or off at the strangest times.

I do need to stop when the light is on and check it.

Who can check it besides DLR.

Well it's most likely a P1235 code, which is overboost at partial throttle. MBCs bypass the solenoid setup and as a result it bypasses the ecu's ability to perform boost correction, which is what enables partial boost at partial throttle. I am guessing that at like half throttle you are hitting almost full boost, right? Well, that's why MBCs suck *** on a car that has an electronic throttle. I would take that crap off and get the car reflashed and control the boost that way. It's a better quality setup and much more driveable.

This is definitely true on the [modern] saabs. I'm disappointed to hear that th evos are so computerized as well. What does the manifold pressure/bpv setup consist of?
