Did you have the car tuned? Are you running the stock ecu flash from Mitsubishi?

It is abnormal. That said, I would not worry about it. Use the [logical] rev limiter in your head. My car has seen 7900rpm in third at load with no ill effects.

Holy crap that was hard to read. I read it three times and I still don't think I understand what happened.

Sounds like you're going to have to get it into the dealer to see what it's up to. Be sure to have your story straight, though, as it seems like they might be likely to deny warranty work for over-revving the engine in this case.

Good luck.

OK, take it in and mention the ASC light issue, but leave the rev limiter part out. They should be able to fix it up in no time.

I assume you have an MR ??

Its normal .. if it doesn't catch the 1st time .. it'll never catch .. check out my post on launching the MR ..

you'll hover at 5200-5500rpms and then it shoots to the moon ..

To reset .. take out the power to the ECU
You only have 1 launch hahaha

j/k

Oh yes .. for the rattling noise .. does it sound like this ??

sorry you gotta listen carefully .. it's on about after 2-3sec until I shifted then it's gone..
