Because $38k of that was spent to go fast, and you don't get much sound control with $2,000.

Edit: Have you ever been around an actual race car? They are an order of magnitude more expensive and loud. =p

Yea the engine makes that flap flap sound at the beginning of that video.

 

he doesn't have anyone to hold his camera for him...

 

today, I heard a new click click click sound from the top of the motor... and I really don't like it. I'll verify it with another and tell you what's going on...

Clicking, banging, and poping is all normal in all the mitsubishi evos.....now when you dont hear the noise is when you should worry.

These engines are noisy indeed.
lately I am getting this rattling noise when accelerating between 1000 to 1300rpm. My car is the 2010 galant fortis with 1.8L 4B10 and CVT. I'm attaching a recording. Sounds like a diesel . No codes, no loss of power but sounds awful. Help!

 

the Ecotec in the Sky Redline and the twin turbo six in the 335i etc are but not the 4b.

 

My car makes what sounds like a valvetrain noise, similar to the sound from an old solid roller cam engine with valve lash set real wide.
