3K Miles and already Service Engine Soon?

Well I knew it would happen eventually, but I sure didn't think it would be THIS quick. I think I'm more upset that I have to deal with my local dealer for warranty service than anything, especially since they didn't even know my car was an EVO after looking at it.

May god help me.

My wife's car had an SES with 103 miles on the clock. The PDI guy hadn't closed the gas cap all the way when they filled the tank.

Pulled the code at VatoZone and had them clear it (they don't like to though) and all was good.

Go to your local O Reilly Auto parts store and ask to borrow their OBD scanner. The scanner is very simple to operate and for the most part self explanatory and easy to figure out. For common problems the scanner might even have the explanation of the code. If not, just write it down and do a Google search later. Don’t forget to clear the code while you have the scanner plugged in.

I'm going to check my gas cap before I head over.

i had two codes in the past 5000 miles both nonissues and they usually are nonissues. just sucks having that light up.

do you have most recent flashes? if not then i would be 99.9% sure that the code is the p1320 which is timing chain retard something or other on cold starts. not an issue and the reflashes will take care of that and the big crap out in power in the top end.

Do you have the maintenance count down set to go off every 3000 miles? Not sure if that just shows up in the central display or if it also throws a check engine light (I am only at 600 miles).

Well that's an educated remark. All the republicans told me democrats suck, so I am voting McCain. Do you see the logic in that?

Drive one that is tuned and make your own opinion. Much better wayto gain respect with your comments.

Dude, I gotta hand it to you. That's f'n hilarious. Kudos.

It was a P1320. I told the dealer I needed a reflash 2 weeks ago, but they couldn't find anything in their system to warrant it. I guess this gets me what I wanted in the first place.

well now you got the code for the update.

my original dealer told me that the p1320 will come up from time to time and to just ignore it. when i asked about updates/reflashes he told me they don't exist and not to believe what i read on the internet.

i called another dealer and they of course have it and i will be getting them in a couple of weeks when i bring it in.

dealers suck.
