seriously, last night, i was driving a red evo X in my dream, i recall a feeling of missing my evo9 but being relieved and enlightened, enjoying my almost factory driving experience.

hopefully not a glimpse into the furutre. i am going through a motor rebuild, and am dealing with the little bugs that arise in the process and they freak me out. ahhh! ***does the face that mcully culkin does on home alone***

Now then, according to the dream: If this car doesnt become reliable soon I will soon be a proud owner of a evo X, OR pissed off and broke and stuck with my IX, OR end up with a daily driver and a beater wrx (yes i know, but wrx = inexpensive rally car that can take a beating) that i participate in rally events w/ next year

Whats wrong with your IX? Give us some more info and maybe we can help. Hey I had to replace the block in my early '03 VIII, since I broke a wrist pin and gouged the block .050" over...so it could have been worse. I love my car and wouldn't trade it for an IX or a X.

 

Dont be mislead by my first post, thats just my "Evo under the Knife Anxiety"..... i explain:

EvoDynamics JUST installed my buschur block, built my head, a 35R, etc etc, everything that can be done to a motor. I'm driving on wastegate spring pressure to see if any problems arise, which isnt a bad idea since they happen to be out of town at the moment.

there are just some minor bugs that need to be worked out, typical things that occur with builds of this sort. The EvoDynamics guys get back soon from out of town and will finish the work they started and do a good job as always. then its just a matter of reliability over time. I trust them so lets see what happens. I also have vowed to change my driving style to match that of a car that lasts.

the dream scared me though, which prompted me to post this. Perhaps a glimpse into the future....yes? no? Plus i could never see myself taking a brand new car thats not even close to being paid off in the dirt again like in the videos in my signature lol. Which would be VERY VERY tempting if i had a evo X. But wouldnt want to mess it up, i think the X is a sexy car.

 

IM impatient too. that doesnt help.

 

HAHAHAHA you sound like me... I blew it up in october, at 120mph on the front straight at Grattan. Swore I would be back on the track in may, and the car was not done until July, almost...it took me a month to get the map right just to get the thing started. since it was a busy time for me at work and I only had 3 days off and less then enough time to work on it. It took me that long, because I am running a completely different setup then before, 1000cc injectors, raised compression, larger turbo, you get the idea. Lots of phone calls, and 3 attempts. I am currently road tuning the car and waiting to go to AMS for final tune. I have been going crazy for sooo long, I am sooo impatient. For 9mos, I was saying is it ready yet? is it done? does it work? when can I drive it? Well for the first 3 mos. I was saying should it be this turbo? or this engine? what displacement? when will it spool? how much power can be made? That was the fun part. Just turn it around so that its fun, just think of what it will be like after its tuned! Have a and try to relax.

your in the same mess as me, but i was pretty set on what i wanted, and once i make up my mind thats usually IT! but im often open to different options if the sh*t hits the fan. 2.0l bushur block, 280 cams, buschur 35R, 500 whp pump gas daily driver and roadcourse monster all in one(of course thousands of $$$ of other crap to go along with it). i think i bought everything and tried to set everything in motion faster than my mechanics could even get started. lol they are doing a good job of keeping up so far.

but back to the topic, the evoX dream is freaky dude, what do you think it means..
