'09 Evo's not coming to the U.S.?
"You can't beat the laws of physics, because they'll come and find you. Aluminum is not as strong as iron, period. You can put 32psi (race gas) from a 35R through a 4G63 with little more than head studs. Do that on ten 4G63s and ten 4B11s and see which ones hold up better. The 4B11 is good, but its not nearly as strong as a 4G63, that's just asinine."
you know Noise this is sounds great.
But still the 4b11T makes more whp then the 4G63T with bone stock internals.
after you open the engine up then a lots of variables comes to play....
Also aluminum and forged aluminum is also two different thing. The X engine is forged other 4B is not.
The 4B11T is a great engine and so far nothing short of the 4G63.
The blown engines , could be a lots of different reason without the engine fault.
Basically as today everybody is experimenting on them. And you know that is always have victims
I know many blown 4G63 also. That makes the 4G63 bad?
SO far i believe the AMS more then others about the engine , until i dont see the proof of the blown engine, why is actually blow up.
besides the X did something what the 4g63 never. Did run 24 hr race. Which is we know /hopefully/ is actually is something for the X engine in racing .

So i dont think the hold sale is because they find out they did a mistake with the X.
As many people want see that way.

Thanks. Do you have a 5 speed manual or dual clutch transmission? And does your steering wheel have the audio controls if you have the manual? What are specs on horsepower and torque?!
Thanks for the pics tho.

oh ok, so you have the 295hp and 300lb of torque like the usdm versions. Well Maybe the 2010's will have more power? Or like someone else said, mitsu could easily if they wanted release another flash out for the X and add some horsepower to it.
Just to chime in on the JDM 2009.
They got 5 different versions of the Evolutions...
GSR-Premium 5MT (USDM MR)
GSR-Premium TCSST
GSR 5MT
GSR TCSST
RS 5MT
The only difference I can pull out of the Lancer Evo Magazine (from Japan and I don't read Japanese) is that there's a reconfigured center console (covered cup holders, and doors on the cubby hole) and also the "RalliArt" taillights are standard. Everything else seems to be the same. So the 09 is a slight cosmetic update.
This sounds more like Mitsubishi USA decision not to import them this year. Due to overstock of the 08 (maybe? because of the 0% and extra cash back stuff to move the GSRs).
But you're not missing much if you're deciding between 08 and 09. You're not getting anything "newer" except the 2009 on your owners manual.
So I'm thinking Mitsubishi USA think they have enough stock to hold off and import a more "unique" car...say XI.

There is no point in putting more cars that aren't selling well into the US economy. Its just straight business, with the release of the GT-R and the downturn in the economy it wouldn't make sense to bring the 09's until at the very least they get rid of the 08's. I almost think I should buy a X just to get it at a good price. With 0% financing and no sales tax for being military plus $500 discount from MMA I could get one for a very good price.
