well if mitsu doesnt bring the 09 evo to the US then ULTIMATE FAILURE on mitsu's side! i was about to buy an 08 evo X with SSS but the dealer wanted to nail me with almost 37k out the door! i was like ARE U SERIOUS!!!? the yr is almost over and u want to sell it liek its jan of 08 still? and now that 09 r not comming... it just seems like mitsu is going to die out and leave the US car market... afterall the US was never its main market! they would rather invest in latin america, Europe, and Asian countries than here... so boo hoo! time to look for another car that is as bad *** for a bad *** price... might look into the 370z

I bet they won't be budging on th 370z's msrp within the first month or so but the way the economy is, I can bet in just a couple of months, they will be knocking 1k or 2k off of it or more.

Sigh. Some people have no idea. Pretty well every auto manufacturer is overstocked right now with slow moving inventory. Subaru has an 09 STI but they had to take (and are still taking) a missive hit on alot of leftover 08 STI's ($7000 of MSRP & 0% financing). NASIOC has posts of guys getting into new 08 STI's for $27K US. Mitsubishi decided rather that doing the same deal (which is in reality de-valuing the model) with all the leftover 08 EVO X's which would in turn would hurt new Ralliart sales (who's going to drop $28K on a 2009 Ralliart when they are trying unload 08 EVO X GSR's for less) that they would sell off the remaining inventory into 09 and bring on the 2010 models in the summer when the 08's were depleted. Really do you think it's good business to keep manufacturing a car that isn't particularly selling well in an economy where many people are just trying to keep a job and their house? All manufacturers are scaling back 09 model manufacturing this is the reality of the economy.

I just find it humorous that people think that just because they may skip a year of EVO sales that the company is going to leave the US. If Mitsubishi depended on EVO sales to stay afloat they would have gone out of business years ago as it's a low volume vehicle.

Hard to say as it's a supply and demand thing. In light of the economy Nissan is probably not going to manufacture more than they forecast to sell in 09.

FWIW, I am seeing mitsu being almost as aggressive on selling evos as subi is.

I have been looking for a car and have found evos at 7000+ off MSRP with 0% for 60

Near San Francisco, one dealer has maybe 15-20 GSR/MR's on the lot, most with Aero package. The base GSR (no SSS or Aero package or Nav), silver and red, are $7771 off msrp and they're asking $26,888 before taxes.

Unlike normal, high production cars, EVOs don't come out until the calendar year each time they are released. The 2010 EVO will not be out until around January or february of 2010, so we got a while.

That's unfortunate. Well, if worst comes to worst I guess I'll just invest this money for a year and pay the car off in full when it comes out in 2010.

no one knows...not even dealers

ill believe it when Mitsubishi says so...that is not a reliable source.

with that being said you might be able to order an evoX this summer but no is going to take delivery for another year...
