benefit of going to dealer for first oil change?
i dont think washing our car here is even remotely possible. just this past week we had consecutive below negative temperatures. trust me if i could do it i would.
well when i bought the car i really thought i would be using it come winter time so i asked the sales agent if i could get the underchassis sprayed with water so salt doesnt get built up and he said no problem and i would get free car washes. that was until i talked to the GM.

they did wash my car after they realized they got the wrong shift knob.
living in IL with this sorta weather, almost any car wash is better that nothing imo. its amzing to see the difference after the salt is washed off. i am so use to seeng my car white from the salt, that when i had it wash, the blue color was shocking to see.
It's just an oil change, sheesh.
If you're that paranoid, just stand outside the garage bay and watch them do it. Maybe bring the tech some donuts or something and develop a relationship with him/her.
I took my Evo X to the dealer for its first oil change last week (1800 miles). $80. No big deal.

It hurts to even think about taking my car back to the stealership to have anything done, even the warranty work to replace my side skirt (wish they would give it to me and let me install it myself).

My dealer offered "free" oil changes for the first year...
Small print: Does not include synthetic, customer to pay difference.
And they charge $15.95 PER QT!!! for Mobil1 that costs about $4 elsewhere... Do the math, they would love to do my free oil changes for life I bet... I hate dealerships, worked for a few, I know what goes on... Nobody touches my baby but me, 20 degree weather or not

Ltdanish07, bought my car over at Peruzzi and the first 2 or 3 oil changes are free. just schedule it for a saturday morning and sit there while your car is getting done if your concerned about them beating on the car. As far as i know as well, they only have one guy that works on all the evo's. VIII's thru X's.
