Oil Changes, Warranty and Mitsu Canada...

Hi guys,
I'm just wondering how one can "maintain the warranty" without taking the car back to the dealer for the a$$-raping known as oil changes... I'm coming up on 2nd service, (2nd oil change) and want to take it to my friend's shop and do it since well, it's faster, and WAY cheaper since I basically will do it myself.

What else needs to be checked? (Aside from the stuff stated in the manual?)

Thanks!

I could do that...but they'd still charge me at least an hour...which would mean I would have to pay 60-80 bux for a measley oil change.

Charge you an hour for an LOF? That's nuts! Standard charge is typically just a normal LOF (non-evo) price. I use customer oil in services all the time and we don't bill extra for it.

Frankly, anyone who pays full pop for an EVO oil change is just lazy (or has lots of money to burn). ~$30 for a jug of Mobil1's all you need... It's still $30-40 cheaper if you have the dealer do it with your own Mobil1.

if you have been in scarborough mitsubishi they are almost the same.
the mechanic is nice and sometimes it let you in the shop if the service manager is not there. also the mechanic came from scarborough mitsubishi.
some of the parts is a little bit cheap than other dealership.

Oil Change

You can take it to any shop you want or if you do it yourself keep all records,, however you MUST use a factory oil filter to maintian factory warranty.

Canadian law maybe different and Magnuson-Moss doesn't apply.

Is it common for the dealer to require you to have even basic lube service done their to maintain warranty?
