Yes, and it's the paint cracking unfortunately. 
Yes, I tried using ramps (the FRP kind available at Advance Autoparts) and they didn't fit under the front bumper even at stock height. If you want ramps they're going to need to be LONG to get you more than a few inches off the ground.

I have some ramps that I got from Pep Boys and they work fine. I've also driven it up the standard ramps for a lift and it barely clears. I don't have extra long ramps, just the typical ones. I don't think it scrapes at all, but if it does, there are no noticeable scratches on the bottom of the bumper.

These wheel cribs should take care of any damage caused by regular jack stands.

The wheel cribs state that the set holds a max of 3000 pounds. Our girls are big boned lol.

A set is 2 cribs. You'd have to be quite a bit over our approx. 3500lb. curb weight to be putting 3000+lbs on 2 wheels. They should be more than strong enough to hold one or both ends (with 2 sets) of the X.

I absolutely abhor the chosen jack points on this car and cannot for the life of me figure out why they couldn't make them more substantial. The car sounds like a sinking Titanic when you jack it up to the point that I'm very uncomfortable doing so.

One catch with the cribs is that a lot of jobs require removing the wheels and you'll have to use jack stands anyway in those cases.

Is it safe to jack on the rear diff? Seems you would run the risk of cracking the case... I need to jack up the car today to swap tires for the first time anyone have tips for the rear diff jack up?
