No 2009 Evo X for the USA. Confirmed by multiple sources within Mitsubishi.
ok you will have pm in a minute
I did my research and I gave legit prices on used Evolutions.
I have no idea where the hell you came from and stated that I was off and you were right.
Simply put, you stated prices you would THINK were correct.
If you want to take this any further please PM me and stop taking this thread off topic.
Thanks.

Especially if you are planning to keep the car for a while, buying an 08 for a cheaper price, with 0% financing would make it more worth while. Keep in mind, not much of what the supposed 09's shows anything different besides some minor cosmetics.
I have no proof either way, but I've been to 4 different Mitsubishi dealerships here in Mass within the past week or so (I'm still trying to buy a GSR
), and all have said there will be NO 2009 Evo, and that the 2010 will come to the U.S. in late July...and show up at the dealerships in early Sep.

At the very least this is what dealers were told. So here's the lay of the land if it's for real:
1) No way is a 08 Evo worth invoice. It should be 2-3 K less. The car is a year old AND will be further depreciated by the new model(s).
2) Some folks, like me, are interested in the car at a lower cost vs. low finance rates.
3) Others. not elidgble for 0% finance will also be interested in the lower price.
4) The 08 cars will still be lying around in good supply this summer. Dealerships are having a tougher time getting loans approved and sales are way down overall.
Bottom line is to wait until we get a heads up on the "new" Evo X.

from what i understand it is the plant that builds the evo, as well as other trims of lancer.
i think this is important because while yes, everyone is making cutbacks in 2009. That could very well mean that while mitsu would like to put out a 2009, they may be mulling over waiting for an economy pickup which would institute the need for a 2010 rather than 2009.
I just don't think there is good information against there being a 2009 (other than heresay), but this whole you know recession, can kill any plans they might have.
I checked the dealers in my area and most have at least 10, 08 evo's sitting on their lots...
i don't think the odds are in our favor. my .02 cents

I want to see what they do with 2010 models. If they offer a stronger TC-SST (say 450 lb-ft), I'd be interested. Also, it would be nice if they would offer an X with HIDs but without a big wing - preferably no wing at all with a little duck lip spoiler.

Drive One
Most reviews put the X above the STI and rank it along side cars costing much more, and that's often a MR in stock trim! The reviews and tests are in and the X is stellar, but very much the wrong product for the current economy.
The older Evos were great, but the new X handling dynamics are amazing. A simple cheap flash elevates the power enough to suit most enthusiasts and you still have a superior platform that's better as a daily driver and can handle the snow and rain.
On top of that, while some older Evo owners think the X is not better looking, few would agree. The X is MUCH better looking, sleeker and more mature. Even the press agrees on that, just as they tout the X as a better car in most cases.
If I had a worked Evo IX, would I trade for an X? Maybe not. But I will trade my fast and fun to drive Legacy turbo for one!
Keep in mind that no car is really popular at the moment. I just bought a new 2009 Outlander and the dealer HUGGED me! Car dealers are desperate and many are already on the brink.

When I look at actual resale data, and not numskulls who list their cars at 30k and never actually sell them, I see IX selling for about 23-24k.
The VIII sold fairly well, I'm referring to the IX which according to Edmunds, "trickled out of showrooms as though they were coated in feces." I can't find any actual numbers but I can recall some dealers out here still had brand new IXs when the Xs were just hitting the lots.
