Who is ordering a 2010 X?
+1, I hadn't thought of that! Buying it on Oct 10th wouldnt hurt either
Honestly, i'm not sure of the changes that will and won't be included in the USDM 2010 X, but it would have to be something way more significant than a better tune to make it worth buying for all us 08 owners.
If there's any major changes like 50hp bump in power revised interior and an upgraded xfer case, i would say wait it out for the 2010 model year. any model that has to be heavily revised after a year in production (U.S. models) when the new model comes out the value of the 08' are gonna drop like a rock. (remember this is still a 1st year car so all the bugs aren't worked out anyway)
Considering there was just an overhaul on the interiors for the 2008s, I wouldn't hold my breath for anything groundbreaking in 2010. I would hope Mitsu will at least take care of the transmission problems and increase the size of the turbo for 2010.
Wouldn't the GSR-SST be the MR without leather seats? I sure hope the GSR doesn't have SST, I'm happy with my manual transmission.
A bigger turbo wont go over 300hp? I think if they are going to offer a power increase it will be only through a better factory tune.
Why is it that every time a new model Evo is being released, there is speculation of a ridiculous horsepower increase? The 2010 Evo, whether a X or XI, is not going to have a 50hp increase. There has never been such a substantial increase in hp from one year to another throughout the Evo's history. I doubt it will even crack 300hp for 2010.

As I said, there is a chance that Mitsu may pull out of the US as they have been running in this country at a loss for several years and it is basically a write off for them.
If Mitsu leaves the U.S., what happens to us? Meaning does our resale go up since Evos won't be coming to the U.S. anymore? Who does our warranty work? Do we have to keep making car payments if we went through them(lol)? Not that I'm looking to get rid of the car now, just curious what would happen.
Mitsubishi will not leave the USA. Their presence here banks on a LOT more than just Evo's and Galants to bank on. They are a juggernaut of a company and still sell a lot of vehicles here. Even their electronics divisions are tied in commercially with car sales. They're not going anywhere.

But heck, if Chevrolet can pump about 40 new horses in their Cobalt, why can't Mitsu add an extra 25? I'm sure no one will complain (except for the '08 owners
)
that is fine for a sports car, but the evo is a race car for the streets. There is a difference. But there are those targa topped vettes, but those are poly-carbonate and not glass and no motor.
Actually, we might see as much as 5 horses which is the exact amount of extra power for the Jappanesse version (GSR-Premium '09 296hp). So you're most likely right, as I also doubt we'd see anything impressive. But hopefully we're both dead wrong.

)If they have time for some engine upgrades there for the Evo to hearty up the first Alum block, and put a better manual tranny in it, maybe place the pedals farther apart for US models for usable heel-toe big US size 11's, I would understand a major version upgrade to 11. And stand in line to trade mine in. Might have to just for the fun of it
