Recaro seats seem cheaply made

I love the seats in my X, but I gotta say that they seem a little cheap where the racing harness holes are. Those faux carbon things are really cheap feeling, and today I noticed that on my passenger side the fabric was sagging slightly around one of them, exposing a staple that apparently has come loose! I tucked it back in, and you can't see it anymore but if you pull on it it comes back out pretty easily. I wonder if I took it to the dealer if they would do anything about it. My guess is that whatever they would do I could do myself, i.e try to lift up that plastic piece and use a staple gun to try and resecure it, etc. Has anyone else had this happen? Doesn't really bother me THAT much, although it is a little disappointing. Oh well, I didn't buy the car for the interior, but it would be nice if mitsu could make sure that crap like this doesn't happen. Anyway, what do you guys think?

Yeah, I noticed that about the Recaros in the X, too. Just start thinking about some nicer aftermarket seats --- Mitsu had to cut cost somewhere!

Agreed. I will say that I prefer those in my VIII to those in my X.

I like how they feel, but are cheaply made.

I had the same staple issue. Its coming apart from that faux carbon piece. Since going to the leather, this problem has been solved, but the construction isnt that good. I had the same dang issue with the VIII seats as well. The plastic seat belt guides kept popping out and exposing all the foam, but at least I didnt get stabbed with a staple

If it were my car, I would take it into the dealer and make them fix it under warranty. Mostly because knowing my luck I'd screw something up and mess up the seat worse and then have to get a new one or live with a messed up seat. If they do it and screw it up then it's on them and I get a new seat.

I too was disapointed with the X when it came to material and the cheap carbon fiber look. I just saw the Recaro's that are going into the the new RX8's and wished they would have put those in the X.

320 miles and I'm seeing very slight fading in the bolster fabric.

Still enjoying every minute in those seats.

I had the same staple issue. Just keep tucking the fabric back up there.

sorry but i think they are the worst of all of them. They are just way too slippery. Not to mention the rear seats.

Mitsu FTW! My seats had lost the side bolsters already, after only 3 years...
