Sorry to dig up an old thread, but it appears to be the most relevant.

Can anyone with the Aero Kit measure the ground clearance to the rubber + to the edge of the front lip itself?

We have a rather steep driveway with the Bimmer and the Jag XK inside the garage. The other GSR (no aero) sits in the driveway. They can all make it when you attack the driveway and a pretty sharp angle. The XK *barely* makes it, and it has the lowest clearance of the three cars at ~4.8"

I think I may need to get some of those curb ramps to help the new GSR up the slope. Anyone care to enlighten me with some figures? I can't even imagine getting up there with snow this winter (I'm in Illinois).

I also have a Venture Shield kit (not crappy 3M stuff) and custom pieces made from the same material on my aero kit. I honestly can't imagine how scratched up the front spoiler and sills would be without it here in Michigan. And the aero kit, besides looking way cool, keeps some of the crap from flying up on the car and pitting the paint.

BTW-In the thread above you can also see my Blizzaks and wheels from Tire Rack - A MUST HAVE in the weather here!!!! Worst Winter E_V_E_R (I grew up in Chicago) and they were amazing.

Still looking for some recommendations on installers in Illinois.

I will definitely have to grab some wheels + blizzaks for the winter here.

I used the clear coat film which is amazing!!! Not that dull, cloudy 3M look:

They are really great-and for the winter they ride better than the stock tires, given the sub-zero temps that is a plus on the RATTLE scale!

Let's put it this way, I wouldn't lower the car any more than the stock eibach springs...

Can anyone with an Aero kit please answer my previous question (the reason I bumped this thread from the dead... last post before mine was February 2009!):

What is the ground clearance measurement with the Aero kit?

About 5.75 inches to the lowest rubber, 7 inches to the plastic lip the rubber is attached to.

How's that possible when the normal Evo X ground clearance is 5.3 inches?

Just measuring up in the front lip, that is where the problems occur when entering driveways etc.

Could be that the front brake air guides make the difference in the 5.75 vs 5.3 inches, they do hang down lower below the car. They are farther back close to the brakes.
