I went to either home depot or lowes and picked up some push pins and they fit EXACTLY. Much stronger than the OEM screw-in type pins.

I don't remember the exact size but I believe they were 1 1/4" - hope this helps

why would the sand be worse for the car than salt? I've taken my X on the beach, actually burried it to the frame, and had to be pulled out. The two tow hooks on the back of the car are great!! I wish they had one on the front! It was funny driving on the road afterwards sand was flinging everywhere. Yeah that little rubber piece on the front is a joke it has fallen off twice, I need to glue the side again.

Thanks! The OEM are crazy expensive also, so thanks for the tip. I tried some from Autozone but they all fell out.
