I took the car back for the TSB, went through 5 rockers and over ten trips to the dealership! They had to use the TSB and perma-bond to stop the rocker from gapping! Go back through all my posts and you'll see why I was a little upset about the entire situation...

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

With that said, I for one am glad I didn't get the Aero Package. IMO it's a waste of almost $2000.

I really like the looks of the aero, it's saved me over 2000 dollars in rock chips and dents from those sticky stock advans, what could have been a 2-3 visit repair turned into a nightmare! Like I said 8 out of ten days I don't regret buying this car, there's a lot at play here and it's not all Mitsubishi, the fact that my income has been more than cut in half and I'm stuck with a high payment doesn't help when you have your car refused for a TSB and told it's your fault! After I called MMNA he totally changed his tune! The car is an amazing car, for someone to say it's slow or doesn't preform would be considered bogus, the only reason I posted was due to the heat the original OP was taking for posting issues!

I hear you, and I'd be pissed too if it were my car.

My investment of $200 for Clear Guard on my Evo (big dealer discount) and $190 on installed OEM mud flaps before driving the car off the lot was well worth the price when it comes to protecting the paint.

And my front bumper keeps popping off where it meets the fender, from day one also!
The double sticking tape usually should have 3m primer applied on the both surfaces wich are getting attached as it makes a permanent bond with the tape. Is Mitsubishi not using the primer? It makes a big difference but only works well on fresh tape.

Yeah-I've been back countless times trying to get the aero package to stay on the car. So far I've been very fortunate that when inspected they can see that it is in showroom condition and I didn't go off-roading with the damn thing. So they diligently kept fixing it. Poor engineering for sure. But I really like the looks of it and that is a big part of buying the car, isn't it?

That is good to know-I actually went to Home Depot and bought the Scotch brand Super Heavy Duty Outdoor mounting tape (like you would use to attach a metal address plaque to your house) and SO FAR that is actually working.

But no, they for sure did not use the primer - last time I was there they use freaking crazy glue and when the rubber lip fell off again it took the paint from the bottom of the spoiler with it. So I cleaned it all up the best I cold and started over with the new tape. Again, crazy that we are dealing with this nonsense at all. The factory ground effects packages I had on my Miata and RL never gave me any trouble at all.
The fender and inner wheel well always pop out too!

Yeah my car is in near mint it's self, looking at my picture it was rather dirty, but literally I just got back from the dealership and the rocker molding had come loose after they tried fixing it, so I snapped a pic and emailed that to the dealership! They fixed my issue none the less, it looks better than the driver's side now lol. I'm done griping about it, Mitsu fixed it and I have no issues with the car rather than the paint is very susceptible to scratches and chips (life goes on, it's a car and it's also my daily driver)! I'm just happy to be owning an EVO, I just hope and pray I get to keep it now lol!

wow i read all 12 pages but i feel for some of you X owners seriously some of these issues are complete crap. If i paid 30k+ for any car and i had these issues then i would not still own the car. Some of this stuff is just plain stupid and out of control the body kit you can fix yourself with better tape etc the inside pillers nonesense it completely unacceptible i saw in one post a guy was using tape to hold it down are you serious take that crap back to dealer and say look without tape its not holding. This thread confirms why i did not buy a evo X the over all experience might shadow the defects but the paint shotty interior job body kit **** poor tranny is enough for me to take it back or trade it out on another car. Oh and btw i have a 08 GTS lancer and has the same crappy waterpaint job seems like everytime i drive it a new small scratch appears so i bought some touchup paint from shermen williams filled in the problem areas and i dont drive the car anymore for fear of loosing more paint truely sad.
