Surf Board Rack

Hey guys, Summer's here and I'm taking a few surf lessons in Huntington Beach. surfing's been a fun thing and I want to get better.. problem is, Surf board doesn't fit on the Evo X. I can't borrow my father's SUV all the time.

being in college, I really can't afford another DD.. so I'm thinking of putting a rack on the Evo.

saw this on a lancer.. I honestly don't like it at all.. trying to find something smaller. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm looking at the Yakima Products and this seem to be one of the smaller ones..
http://www.yakima.com/racks/kayak-ra...trapthang.aspx

the controversy I'm starting to mod the Evo too... a fixed up Evo + Rack just doesn't look right

I don't see anything wrong with a sick, fast Evo that has a surf or snow rack on it. It's pretty much the action sports car. I'm looking at the Yakima racks myself for the surfboards and snowboard.

Which rack are i looking at? The 70$ one I posted? their price on different ones are quite different. This one seems like for surf boards, but not sure how it holds. it looks like it's just tucked under the belt

do it! it looks like the thule and the yakima would be about the same if you took the snowboard fittings off the thule. either way i say go for it and post pics of your board on top when you do it.

The rack is easy enough to remove, so I wouldn't worry how it looks.

just use soft racks! they work great and you can take them off and on when ever you please! fcs makes a good set check it out! just make sure you put something under your board so the wax dosent get all over the roof of your car!

Nope, I'm afraid I can't help you there. The 70 part is the base rack, and the 12 is the kayak holder (don't know if it would work for the surfboard). I do like the fact that you can use a roof rack on these (since I couldn't on my 05 MR).

Is this the one you are talking about? It looks like there could be some serious rubbing against the paint.. specially with little sand pebbles

yeah those r the ones, and no they shouldn't scratch your paint there mostly made of soft cloth except for the strap part so just make sure when your driving the straps are secured and not flapping around!
