Dealership Is Pissing Me Off Hardcore!!! Please Read And HELP!!
sorry man, I didn't mean to make it sound that way.
I just love their service, so much I call them time to time just to see what's up, and new from mitsubishi.
I'm buddies with one of the Sales guy's since he sold me 2 vehicles, and he said alot of the mitsibishi dealerships in the area are closing up for good, it's a bit saddening, but jerry's is still doing ok their selling about 50% of their normal sales. They plan to pull through the recession, and be there with the new evo's when it's over.
I want another one a 2010 MR maybe next I don't know, I may even wait and look for a used one to beat the heck out of, but I want to wait and see how this new transmission hlds up.

D420mac, are you an officer in the military or something? Paying for a 36,000 car in cash is no small feat, even with re-up bonuses. Though several deployments can help. Nice garage you have!!!
As for the OP, personally, I would have stuck it out for what you want. I will tell everyone that I love my car, and I do, but I wish I had done two things differently when I bought it. First, I wish I had done more research on the Evo IX, would have found the IX SE, and I wish I had shopped around more.
I love everything about my IX MR EXCEPT the 6 speed. Now anyway. I wish I had found a low milage SE and bought that. I would have had exactly what I wanted and needed (I wanted the MR at the time, I want an SE now). But hey, it's your $, spend it how you want. I hope you are happy down the road, I truely do. Best of luck with your Evo, make sure to post some pics picking it up at the dealer!

yea i def will post up some pics when i get it. and yea im happy with my decision. i could of went for another color in sss but that that was not what i wanted.
people act like if i didn't get sss than i didn't get what i wanted. Put it this way...after im done upgrading the sound sytem, it will whoop the sss rockford system lol so in a way it helped me.
and like i said for the hundredth time...i will eventually get HID's and a wing, and the fast key was never something that grabbed my attention.

I think there is a bit of uncalled comment here, and prejudice against the base GSR which is a bit unreasonable.
A base model GSR is still an Evo X and therefore a high performance car. I almost bought one myself from a dealer in SD (Verne Eide) but it turned out the sales guy was a lair and I found out they were in fact letting people test drive the cars, rather than his lame story about one of the managers taking the car home for the weekend (300 miles on the odometer).
And I found a GSR with SSS for $2000.00 cheaper with 47 miles!
But thats another story....
All in all the only part of the SSS pacakge that is must have in my opinion are the headlights. Only then because of the wire harness and ECU issue. These lights work tremendously well especially out in the middle of nowhere. They light up the entire friggin highway, median, oncoming lanes, sky etc lol.
But the stereo isnt that great. My wife loves it but she doesnt know any better. Personally Im getting tired of the little tweeters squaking in my face and Im just about ready to rip them out theyre so bad.
And the FAST key has its downside too:
Im always wondering if the car is really locked. I cant just walk up to it and pull the handle to test it to make sure.
When I go into the water, swim, ski etc, I like to have a spare key tied into my swim trunks just in case. You cant do that with a FAST key for the obvous reasons.
Plus if it fails youre stuck. Sure the lame little key that pulls out will let you in the car but will it let you start it? No (maybe I dont know something here).
And Im getting tired of the wing too. Its a huge cop magnet. Ive been stopped three times in the past six weeks not even speeding just to be talked to. And Im not even driving as hard as when I had the rex which I never got pulled over in unless I was truly speeding.
And every redneck nascar fan in the region pulls up to me in their viper truck or ford lightening and wants to race.
Not to mention you cant see out the back window. Im actually thinking about taking it off and plugging the holes and putting a vortex generator on.
Plus after looking at some Xs with the wing off I think it looks kind of classy that way.
So in hindsight I almost wish I could have just ordered the HID and screw the rest of the SSS package.
Maybe instead of replacing the stock headlamps you could find some quality HID lamps to install somwhere else on the car like near the bumper?
Ive seen some STi guys do that in my area and if installed well it actually looks pretty cool. Just a thought-

The OP then settled for a car that wasn't exactly what he wanted. So, my comment had nothing to do with the Evo...it was about the OP and him not getting what he wanted so he settled for something else.
This whole scenario is an "I told you so" waiting to happen.

NOBODY EVER DEAL WITH SALERNO DUANE MITSUBISHI IN RANDOLPH, NJ!!
Right when i thought things couldn't get any worse!
If you guys read from the beginning then you should know the backround story. I left off that the dealer was supposed to pick up my Evo X and have it for me by monday. Well yesterday was monday and when i called they guy said come here tomorrow at 7 and it will be here. I obviously call this afternoon because im not just gonna show up at 7 and have no car. He says call back in an hour. I call back, stay on hold for over 10 min and they hang up on me. Call back 3 more times cause i couldn't get through. I speak to the manager and explain to him that the salesman said it will be here tonight by 7. He starts going on how he has the check but it doens't look like it will be here tonight. I tell him this is too f*cking much and if you don't get the car tonight i want my money back!!! He says fine this is too much for me too and i'll give you back the deposit and hangs up.
Im ****ing furious now...i call the dealer where the car is in Philidalphia, PA. I speak to the same manager that i spoke to last week. I explained what happened and asked if they still have the car. He said they do, and his starting price was already $800 less. Luckily i got half day of work and get off at 2. I'll be going to Philly at 3ish and going to get my Evo X once and for all.
I can't believe the crappy service and unprofessionalism of Salurno Duane Mitsubishi in Randolph, NJ. I was WAY to patient with them!!
This time it looks like i'll actually be getting the Evo tonight. But wish me luck!

My comment had nothing to do with the model or trim level of Evo. My comment was about the OP. He started a thread about how pissed off he was that the dealership didn't get him the exact Evo he wanted. He then talks himself out of the exact car he wanted because the dealership couldn't get it for him. The exact car he wants is out there, he didn't work hard enough to find it. I posted a link to a dealership that has the exact car he wants.
The OP then settled for a car that wasn't exactly what he wanted. So, my comment had nothing to do with the Evo...it was about the OP and him not getting what he wanted so he settled for something else.
This whole scenario is an "I told you so" waiting to happen.

If you just want to break ballz you could point out that selling the G37 was counting chickens that hadn't yet hatched.
