Strange CEL?

So about two weeks ago I finally installed my Buschur catback. Well a couple days ago i'm sitting in my drive way and i started to hit the gas to let one of my friends hear how it sounds. I got it up to around the 6500~7000 rpm's ish and my CEL comes on, my 'ASC off' light comes on and the car says it needs some kind of maintance. I drove it down the road and back, shut it off and turned it back on and it was fine. But what would have went wrong for all that crap to happen? No problems yet it was just wierd.

There's supposed to be a 5500rpm rev limiter when the car isn't moving.

Yeah it's supposed to be there but i've revved it a couple times that went over that. So that rev limiter don't work too good.

Maybe the 2 step only works with the clutch in?

Two step works only with the clutch in and the car in first gear.

i have had this happen quite a few times... Someone told me it was basically a brain fart on the control unit for the ASC... I would like to know what really does cause this as it is pretty annoying.

ok so it happens when i downshift into 4th from 5th. I video taped it and took a pic of the screen... the SES light isn't a part of this issue as it is caused by my test pipe.

steering angle sensor malfunction? someone on the forums had an issue with the asc light off turn on and it was due to a bad SAS.

yea i'm not sure what conditions everyone else had their problems with but it's possible in a straight line, a malfunction is a malfunction even in a straight line it could be reading wrong throwing the asc light.
