weird light in info screen
weird light in info screen
Driving to work this morning. Was driving in tarmac mode with no asc settings off. Weird info light saying TARMAC (on usual top spot) following by ((!)) CHECK. An ideas what that could be. No addition lights turned on. I was coming from about 40 mph to a complete stop and it popped up. Possibly low tranny fluid or something else?
Press the info button and see if you can get to an info screen. The ! usually means there is info in there somewhere. My ACD pump went out the 2nd month I had my car and I couldn't switch modes anymore. On another screen it had a symbol for the AWD drive system and I couldn't switch from tarmac. Let us know what happens.
Oh btw.. dealer fixed it and I have had no more issues. Manual did address this issue and said It was drivable until I could fix it.

Only north of the border.
U.S. cars have an indicator that says "BRAKE".
Weird technical difference, but alas - I don't think the brake indicator you're describing is what he's talking about - his was shown in the multi-display, not an actual indicator light.

I just reread the original post.... This (!) light is a MULTI indicator and more info is given on another screen. Press the INFO button until you reach that screen. It will be yellow most likely. The (!) even comes on when you are low on gas or your tire pressure is low.
Interesting...I didn't think it would be that since the (!) is associated with so much in the X. It did that in my evo 8 when the pads were worn and the fluid resevior was almost empty because the cylinders in the caliper were full and taking all the fluid to press the thin pads in.
So I agree with the other two above ..it probably is your brakes if the info thing has no further info. Be advised..if you put more fluid in to make the pads last longer..when you put new pads in it will overflow....or it did in the 8. Good luck.
