Sorry for bumping an old thread, but I just began seeing this after 2 months of problem-free operation. It has been excessively hot since the last week. What kind of cleaning agent can be used to get the glue off the tint?

Well, how do you get it off the tint without causing damage?

I don't have a problem but like stated it wipes of with goo gone and the problem will quit eventually. Its just a little excess glue and the problem starts to come up when the weather gets warm.

Not a big deal.

Ahhh I used to clean this goo off my tint all the time, but I haven't done it in over 6 months. I just went out and tried to get it off, and it's all dried up (not gooey) and seems to be STUCK on the film now. I tried scratching it with my nails even and it seems like hard deposits stuck on the film now. Any tips on how to soften this up to get it off my tint??

EDIT: As I sit here upset, I just realized that heating it up "should" soften it up right? So I'll first try leaving the car in the sun all day. If that doesn't work, will a heat gun be too hot (damage the tint of cause it to separate from the window?)

I have the thick Llumar lifetime rated tint.. no mole skin protection (or equivalent) in the window channel, and I don't have any streaking or scratches. I have rolled my window up and down hundreds of times so far without a problem. I think a lot of it has to do with the quality of tint.

When I got my car, the first thing I did was tint the windows. They put the mole skin, and as soon I left it started to streak. it also left glue on the tint, I was pissed and got them to take it off. They refund my money and I never got a scratch again. They left the tint on. But I think it is a way to scam more money from people. Sorry this is touch subject for me, it took a month before he gave me any thing back.
