Gap under Headlights
Gap under Headlights
I have a base GSR and I recently installed the SSS projector headlights.
Ever since the new headlights went in I started noticing that the gap between the headlight housing and the bumper (underneath) is quite huge, especially the driver side.
I got all paranoid and started hunting for close-up pictures on the forum to verify whether it’s a quality control issue on Mitsu’s part or I just didn’t put my bumper back on properly. I even went to the dealer to check out a few evo’s and I noticed that some cars have nearly no gap while others have gap nearly as bad as mine
Anyone else notice this? Is this normal?

True, some are less than perfect. Mine straight out of the dealership has a gap as well.
Don't think too much of it. It's really not that noticeable from a distance.

Mine did the same thing
Unfortunately, you need to take the bumper off to push it closer. I had to push in the driver side while tightening the bolts. Wait until you swap out your intercooler or something to make the project worth the effort.

Mine has always had a bit of a gap, but it was noticeably more after installing my headlights.
Now there is just the "normal" amount of gap.
Honestly, yours is probably just fine. If it really bothers you, then take the time to fix it. If not, just keep it in mind for the next time you have the front off.

Thanks for the inputs guys. I guess I just got a bit paranoid lol
I think I’ll take xPRimNT’s advise and fix it when I do my FMIC or UICP/LICP.
xPRimNT, there might be a breakthrough on the DRL issue lol. My dealer told me that a tech from head office said the fix involves swap two wires but I don’t have the details as to which two. I’ll try to find out more and report back in the other thread.

Hi, how much did you pay for your sss headlight ?? I'm tired of using the reflector headlight + H.I.D, the ballastic is so easy burn ... Just wondering after you change them to projector, do you need to install H.I.D moduel to change the color of the headlight??
