You gotta remember, not every tech is going to romp on your car, he may have drove it like a sunday driver? We can at least hope so!

The tech wanted to make sure the boost was holding, couple 7000 rpm pulls for that

See if ASC disengages, few donuts for that 7 miles sounds about rite

Quote: how much dose the dealership charge for those type of services bc i need a oil change and a tire rotation with alignment
The service was just under $200.

The amount of clutch the tech burned through during the test drive...priceless.

Did they charge you for the alignment? You're entitled to a free alignment for the first 12k miles or 12 months. It's in your warranty booklet.

You're well under the 12k miles. Have you had your car less than 12 months? If you have, go back and ask them to refund the charge for the alignment.

ZOMGZ! 7 miles! I say sue them

On a more serious note though, why don't you call them and nicely ask why they put 7 miles on the car? If you call them with the attitude in your first post, expect the same type of reaction from them. I'm sure they will ask the tech, and he'll provide a response. Just don't be a dick about it.

Alright, after the gently ridicule I got above, I felt fine dropping the car off at the same dealer for service last week. They did the 2 recalls and I needed the seat fixed (staples showing). They told me up front they would take the car off site to an upholstery shop. Fine.

3 days later, I get the car back. I initially didn't look the car over, just got in, Seat way back, steering wheel all the way down (who drives like that??). Didn't think much of it so I fixed the positions and drove off. Realized there is NO GAS. I mean nothing. I had about a third of a tank when I dropped it off. I was a bit annoyed. Made it to a nearby station and filled it. 13.75 gallons. Never seen that before.

Got home and saw there was a thick layer of mud on all the mud flaps. Now I'm pissed. I've never gotten a car back from a dealer dirtier than how I dropped it off, but where the hell were they driving it?

Then, I thought of the Nav system. It's my little black box recorder. I should have thought of this last time. I pull up the record and see that during the time they had it, the average speed was less than 30 MPH and the average fuel economy was 12-14 MPG. Before and after, it ran around 20MPG (in my hands).

That's my last trip to this dealer.

If I drove my car 7 miles, I would probably only average 12-15 mpg. Especially if I was just on the street. So I'm not sure that is a dead giveaway.

I would definitely inquire why your car came back dirty and with no gas. I doubt your car was hurt but it's seems pretty unprofessional to take out a customer car for no reason and (possibly) be driving it hard.

Unfortunally we dont have alot of options for Mitsu dealers around this area. Dick Smith has not given me any problems and they had a pretty good tech there that knew alot about EVO's not sure if he is still there. I purchased my X there. As far as your gas mileage goes it is more than likley has a low MPG reading from sitting at idle for a long period of time. The average speed less than 30mph kinda of confirms that. One of the recalls being the fuel rail they probably let it idle for a while to make sure it was ok. Anyways good luck.

What would I do without you guys.

You make me all warm and fuzzy after my paranoid rants. I will say that the service manager is pleasant.

Seriously though, they should do better than giving a customer a muddy car with no gas. I wouldn't have had any problem paying an extra $10 if they had told me they needed to put a couple of dollars of gas in the car rather than making me sweat it to the gas station. Of the 10-12 new cars I've owned, this is the first one where the dealer/service experience wasn't at least good.

I'd say 12-15mpg is normal when the avg speed is so low. As for the muddiness, I'd b!tch about that. My dealer always cleans my car when they give it back. If I've just cleaned it, I kindly ask that they don't touch it, since their wash jobs suck.

Unfortunately, I think I've had that car in the shop more than my POS Tacoma with 226k miles. *sigh*
