it all depends on what you want . if i would have known about the warranty bs ,and dealers not wanting to touch the evo i would have bought a genesis. but since this 370 or evo i would buy the 370 the build quality is way better than the evo... hell a yugo's interior does not rattle this much. i own an evo and like it ,but there are alot better cars out there that you can make as fast ,or faster with less money and better reliability.

So I just got back from getting a ride in an ap1 s2000 and let me tell you... Going WOT on the car then hitting VTEC is great, slicing through a turn like your on rails is even greater! I had an opportunity to get into the passenger seat with an awesome member on the forums (don't know if he wants me to keep it secret) and he was real great about the whole thing. Getting to talk with a real enthusiast persuaded me to actually get excited about this car.

He did offer to let me drive, but I didn't want to **** up the car or get in trouble with it so I decided to pass. Soon after we had some unforeseen circumstances and we decided to go back. Anyways, it really put that in my head that I really need to drive this car. So I did, I searched for about an hour for a dealership with a used ap2 and I told the salesman I wasn't interested unless I saw it's real potential.

It was about 8:30p ~ish that we actually got to go out. The car has decent acceleration until your in VTEC, and KA-POW! I took the car over and over on the on-ramps and kept going around and around to feel the handling on this car. This thing really does feel like a go-kart; as soon as I got in my car... It felt like a POS with no response at all!

I got to talk with the GM at another dealer about getting an s2000, but he has none in stock. So what we're gonna do is see if we can do a dealer trade with another dealership out of state. We'll see, still need to give the evo X tuned a chance!

Wow thats new to me. But the oil issue with the Z is also legit. There are a lot of people complaining how quickly it burns. The poor dude that posted that thread in my earlier post toasted his car with very low miles.

^^ (5-0) thanks for the fix... Hopefully the OP posts pictures when he get's his ride.. Oh yea, if you do decide to get an evo X. Have them work on all the recalls if not done yet... especially, the fuel rail/line recall.... Im not sure if the 2010's have the same problems but for sure the 2008's... or check the vin see if the car you looking to get has the problem...

Hope that didn't change your mind about getting an X..

There's also the STi, unless you are totally against the looks of it.

If you were impressed by the handling of the S and didn't mind the power/torque, you should look at a turbo Mini-S with the LSD too to add to your list, not quite the same feeling as the S, but definitely a go-kart feeling. A CR S2k will feel even better (if you can find one).

You still never said why you didn't look at the STi... Just didn't like the looks?

Get a Supra turbo. You get RWD, Boost, one of the best motors ever made, awesome looking car. Honestly I don't need to explain anymore. They are incredible.

LOL this thread is funny... OP was debating the choice between 3 specific cars, now all kinds of other cars are being thrown into the mix. While we are on that, why don't we throw in the Lotus Elise to the mix... I know I want one just cuz it's sexy, unique, and a true driver's car.

Actually I like the hatchback look of the STi a lot. Only problem is that I haven't gotten a chance to actually get a chance to drive one, overall I feel I'd like the Evo X more as the STi seems to be a bit more mature. This may not be true, but I just perceive it as ... A 350z is to an Evo X as a G35 is to an STi (not sure if I worded that right).

I'm going to another dealer to check out a GSR with 3k miles... How much should I be asking for that? I'd assume 24-25k would be really fair, but then at the same time... I don't want to be getting a used evo x.

+1 to that, except he wants to buy new... and a new Elise is over this price range... But if he wants to push it... it'll be even better than the S (minus storage space...)

That's kind of how it used to be between the older models (not quite though). The STi doesn't handle quite as well as the X and is a bit more loosely connected with the road. But that's really the only "luxury-esk" features it has over the X. I drove 2 GSRs and an MR and 3 different STis... in the end, I chose the STi. I could list the reasons, but this is EvoM and I don't want to start a pissing match stepping on peoples' shoes, they are all very great cars for sure. If you want to know more of my feelings on the STi feel free to pm me. (I promise I'll still be fair to the Evo).

Don't forget to quote Mos Def (The Italian Job): "I had. A bad. Experience..." (with )

That's my own personal reason, not a thought out general one, I had bad luck with Mitsu, not everyone else has or will have. I avoid bringing that up always now on EvoM, even via PMs, it pissed too many people off in this new batch of Evo owners and I respect that.

Edit: Noize was even PMing me about the car (asking why I chose it over a X...sorta) the other day and I even said this:
"We'll leave my large loathing for Mitsubishi out of the conversation, that can be used to just explain why I spent nearly as much for a used STi as a new X would've cost.... plus I'm at 6% financing."
