Debating between 370z, Evo X, and Genesis Coupe
I'll try add something fresh to this topic.
You mentioned you didn't like AWC doing all the work for you in the corners... Try turning it off then
I usually drive the twisties with it off, lets you push the car closer to the 'edge' and is alot funner.
evo vs 370 on a daily driver basis is an easy choice, evo all the way.
Stock vs Stock I think the 370 will barely out-perform, however if you matched the cars up mod for mod the evo will quickly take that performance edge away 10 fold.
The stock evo while still fun is very mild when compared to a completely stock tuned car. A good tune will net you up to 60/70whp with absolutely no other modifications, while the 370 can only dream of this kind of power gain.
Either way best of luck with your purchase and keep us updated! :

Edit: Noize was even PMing me about the car (asking why I chose it over a X...sorta) the other day and I even said this:
"We'll leave my large loathing for Mitsubishi out of the conversation, that can be used to just explain why I spent nearly as much for a used STi as a new X would've cost.... plus I'm at 6% financing."

You mentioning that you won't bring it up a hate for mitsubishi is in fact bringing it up. Your ninja tacticts don't work on me!
I had a friend try to get me to join his Mitsubishi site, I declined, this is not MitsubishiM.net.
The Subaru community definately is interesting. I joined NASIOC when I was cross shopping the STI and EVO and still go there as I don't mind the News and Rumors section and sometimes it's fun to observe the other side. Part of the reason it's not as good IMO is that younger people can get into used WRX's easier than EVO's making the forums full of young know-it-alls as there is a lot of bickering and especially a lot of hate for the latest generations of WRX and STI. As well Subaru loyalists are almost cult-like in their blind love of all things Subaru. Makes it hard to reason with them.

^ He had. A bad. Experience... that's understandable, no?
Seriously though, If I didn't get an X, the STI would probably be my 2nd choice... then again I could save a ton of $$$ opting for a Ralliart instead, since I don't race :-)

The saved money did not hurt either. I just wanted a car I'd really enjoy. Sooooo glad I did not go for the luxury brands.
I see. It's unfortunate that Mitsubishi wronged you as I know where you are coming from as I will no longer do business with Mazda after the experience of owning one of their lemons and putting up with their equally poor service. For all the money spent on vehicles its crazy that automobile manufacturers and dealers get away with treating consumers so poorly.

The exact opposite happened to me. I was cross shopping between Acura RL/ Lexus GS 350 and the Audi A6. Then saw the X, absolutely had to try it, test drove it, never went back.

More luxury than the X/GR have is overated. I hated the 8
I need SOME creature comforts. The only other place luxury comes in handy is impressing clients for certain jobs, and getting the ladies. Side story but I had a friend tell a girl about his Lexus (is250) and she wanted to go for a ride in it... Told her about my STi... "what is that?" "A Suba..." "oh, no thanks"

i cant speak for the evo x... but i owned a couple 350z's , and a g35... Now I have an evo 8 as my toy..
Just a few quick observations...
The evo 8 interior fells cheep compared to my nissans...
The inside of the nissans are also mch more ergonomic and sporty...
the evo gets better gas milage...
The evo barely turns heads...
The z's dropped panties..
Although i dont know this for a fact, the evo feels like it would be much better 400hp daily driver ...
I had a turbo z , and a fully built turbo g.. they both made 400hp, and they were both nightmares to keep pn the road.. I dont get that feeling from my evo...

What I meant is luxury/premium brands... BMW is good, but I can't justify buying a brand new one (most come loaded w/ options & priced accordingly) anymore when you can save $10-15K for something else from a non-premium brand. For example, how much is a new 328i/330i... close to $40K for a regularly loaded one, right? Sure, it's got plenty of luxury features, comfy, etc. But I'd rather get a Ralliart which has more performance for a lot less money... $25K? I get turbo, AWD+ front/rear LSDs, TC-SST, etc... more bang for my buck.
On a sidenote, I love the Lexus interior on the IS though :-)
